If you're going for a professional course like medicine, pharmacy or other health related programs, pls go to a public university. You'll gain more knowledge and practical exposures from there.

But if you just want to go to university to acquire certificate (like many Nigerians do), then you may wanna consider a private university for a faster sail through school.

Public is fine if you can work hard and have little to spare. Don't mind naysayers, 4 years is usually engineered to not really exceed four years despite all the hyped setbacks.



Private is extremely expensive - your half of one year fees in a private University can comfortably cover your whole 5 years in a federal University - but there's no debate about the timing.

I didn't mean that. I only stated what I know for a fact, which is that Nigerian federal government owned universities are better off in training of professionals than their private counterparts.

Why can't you study abroad instead of going for private University? @ OP, Go and pay the 500k to a private university and learn Phyton from Year 1- final Year. Advantage of the private school is, you don't go on strike, They have new Phyton textbooks unlike the torn ones in Public university.

If you want freedom, to flex, enjoy your life but experience some dangerous situations like cultism and robbery then government uni is for you.
Remember strikes are bound to happen.

If you want to gain easy admission have the best facilities in the country, cleanest environments and best learning environments then private uni is for you. Ofc you won't have much freedom in private.

Forget Private/public uni. Choose laptop university (NOUN)

Bring down the negotiations to as low as making #50k if need be just so I can sell. Set your monthly target...
