Almost everyone in the south condemned the act and pressed for the arrest of the perpetrators. How many Northern Muslims have done same regarding Islamic terrorism in the north (this assumes I'm responding to a sensible person)?

Looooooool. That’s why I said your hypocrisy stink to the high heavens. Sheikh jafar was murdered for calling out BH extremism. Same thing went for Sheikh Albani Zaria and many more. Extremism is condemned in the strongest term possible in the North. Google is not made for smart people alone, they contemplated people like and u can search for these scholars name. You just want your agenda to agend based on ur vile.

Let me draw a more recent example. The baba ijesha rape issue had Christian people supporting him. These are majorly Christian southerners. Many Christian southerners defend yahoo boys... so what are u saying? Is the south a never to do well region for this? When crime and evil is committed, we see people condemning and defending it and this goes both ways. Southerners are no morally better than Nottherners and vice versa. That’s the basis of my argument.

Trying to paint the North in black (that nothing good can ever come out from) and South in white does
not just cut it. They’re equally vile and despicable people in both regions (and in equal proportion as well). I
Love the North and I live in the South and I can tell you for sure that there is an abundance of good and bad people everywhere.

Jos is best for you and your family Sir.

Growing up, there were so many whites in Jos. They had several businesses and tourism was booming. The whites and other foreigners enjoyed Jos because of the weather, food, serenity and ambience.

Today, I don't think you will find a white person in Jos. Probably a Reverend Father or Sister.

Nigeria.... Ohhhh I weep for you. Growing up in Lagos, the NEPA pickup had a speaker on it. They would drive around our community to announce load-shedding due to transformer maintenance. If they tell you 3hrs of no electricity, then its three hours, and thereafter, electricity will be restored. There was no Internet, but they were efficient.

I haven't been home in years, however, i remember my childhood in Lagos, and I compare it to the Nigeria of today...... Just so sad.....

I hope to start a movement, to help other African Countries from falling like Nigeria. So help me God.

TIL

Today I learnt what the speaker on those NEPA pickup truck is used for, feels good to know a little about the history I wasn't aware of.

I learnt this from a thread that has nothing to do with NEPA e.t.c

You may see it has nothing but thanks for sharing.

Some of u maybe so quick in casting doubt on something that is serious and real. My guy even divulge too much info yet u said "you don't believe him" Why not leave ur keyboard or phone and investigate his claim. Self-contain in Chika is 250k (this is the amount my friend is renting his selfcon), so tell me how much is a room and parlor suppose to go for?

By the way, this topic is very dear to me as I also live in Abuja myself. So, I will be be planning myself toward this...

That's the part i don't believe undecided

Well, the truth is no one will know the best decision for you except your self, you know your financial status, family, etc, majority of people have said the truth, jos is a lovely place to live in Nigeria, its a city in north you can get absolutely everything you need.as for security, no where is 100% secure in Nigeria now, as for cost of living, its on the rise in every part of Nigeria now due to insecurity everywhere. back to the question, i was in jos for the last 8years, I recently relocated back to Lagos last year July due to completion of the project i went for, it was hard decision for me because of the love i have for city of jos, compared to Lagos where i was working before i got posted to jos, i got married in jos and i have a son, i wanted us to stay back and look for another job, but my wife disagree, all our family are in south west, its very difficult to attend family functions due to distance, then i was able to agree with her, baba just one month after i got to Lagos i got a job that's X 5 salary i was collecting before and my wife got a job as well and it makes settling down back to Lagos more easier. i give God all the glory, now am saying all this for you to take into consideration in your decision making, you will enjoy good life in jos but opportunity will be limited, but in Abuja, if you work your way very well and pray harder, you will get connected easily, that doesn't mean people don't get connected in jos, but you need to look at the number. if your office didn't give you transfer, just chill a little while, don't rush to take decision, i will not advise relocating madam to jos while you work in Abuja, apart from you will be paying double house rent, Abuja to jos is good 4hrs or thereabout, so its not just where you can go as you want especially with level of insecurity in the country. and one of the things that break up marriages this days is when husband & wife live far apart. wish you all the best.

lived all my.life in lagos till.2014.Abuja since then...but thinking about Jos.
I'm 36, IT professional n married with 2 kids...wife not really working. i currently work in an ingo that also gas field offices includin Jos...but my salary isnt that interesting to make me that comfortable in abuja considering the bills on my neck.
we stay in a 1BR apartment in one of the villages (chika precisely) in abuja and pays abt 370 yearly.

ive visited Jos more than 5 times and i keep loving it more in each visit...Rayfield and surroundings to be precise...calm, weather friendly, fresh n affordable food, my salary wud get me a comfortable 2BR flat... navigation to/from abuja is jst 4hrs..so i feel i can apply for a relocation to our field office in jos..or at worst work from abuja and travel weekends.

i dont intend living anywhere outside Jos south/Rayfield environs

as a family man...i find it most suitable to relocate there..most esp for the sanity n good environment for my children's growth -stressfree of going to school in abuja, the hot sun, bad electricity, havin to wake up to fan my.kids at night (ofcos i have Generator)..i stay in a noisy compound that dosnt befit me..many fake foods n fruits in abuja, ..i wonder if its the same Nigeria...but Jos looks like a greener pasture for me.

Just as you wrote, if you can work out a transfer to Jos, congratulations to you. Jos is a beautiful city coupled with your choice area but no come do pass yourself oooh.

Jos weather is one of the best, things are also cheap and the security situation have improved compared to other state. Though infrastructure is very poor like market development, good road and water supply is poor and the City looks very dry compared to places like Kano and Kaduna.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the home of peace and tourism. No reason am sir, Jos is one of the few places to settle down in Nigeria. With cheap foodstuffs, friendly people and above all the best weather in Nigeria. I'd advice you stick to your preference of rayfield cos other places like angwan rukuba, apata, dilimi, gada bui etc go spoil your children.
Bros, waiting Gada Biu do you now, I had lived in Rock-Haven and even Utan Village before and I damned enjoyed my stay in those places grin

I do love J-Town. I lived in GRA (Bachit Close) for a while. I was hoping I'd settle there, but that was before the Jos crisis. Jos is a beautiful town, but after the bombing of Terminus, I just lost interest in the place. But I remember Jos fondly.

Thank you.

@OP untill you own your house and have a comfortable home without managing to live in a one bedroom flat you should be less relaxed about your location.
If you can or know how try get involved in earning residually.
That's why I can't do physical jobs full time...howbeit online jobs are the best bet for financial sustainability and freedom to having time to plan a better future especially when you are getting paid in hard foreign currencies with better value than Naira.
