Factshunter:Those are called Geopolitical zones for a reason. This creation has made , for example, an Ikwere man to see an Igbo man more of an enemy because the latter does not belong to South-South, despite both being neighbours. Because of the 'South-South' created by some people in power (and not the forefathers of the different ethnic groups) to probably create discord with the Igbos; thus, Binni man is considered more as a brother to same Ikwere man just because they are in the virtual entrapment of the so called Geopolitical zone. Should Nigeria divide with NigerDelta having their country, from the look of things the emerging country will be as present Nigeria. There will be much power tussle and the unification in language will pose a challenge. In developed countries, for example Germany, there are regions that still have their dialects different from Deutsch. For example, the Bavaria core indigenes speak differently, but that doesn't take away German as their official language. What will be the official language for the South-South? However, if Nigerians division will bring peace without bloodshed, then so be it, irrespective of the number of pieces it splits. |

theTranslator: First of all I am not an IPOB member neither do I consider Kanu my leader. But one thing I know about Igbos policy on this is that they have always said that a referendum will decide those who will eventually be in Biafra. They recognize that the word BIAFRA, is co-owned by the ethnic groups of the eastern region, and in like manner, those ethnic groups have the right to decide whether they want to be part of physical Biafra or not, hence their preference of referendum that will give everyone and every ethnic group, the opportunity to decide.. Personally over the past few years I have moved from preferring an all-encompassing Biafra containing all the ethnic groups of the eastern region, to now preferring just an Igbo nation comprising of Igbos in the SE, Benue and Igbos in all the SS states. With regards to alleged massacres of SS people by SE people, it remains unsubstantiated. At least provide documents by internationally reputable organisation like Red Cross, alleging this, if you cannot give the military unit or the Biafran unit commander involved e.t.c |

OfoIgbo: The way I see it is that Nigeria has failed beyond redemption and a referendum should be held in the SE/SS area to determine who wants to be a Biafran. Its not for any ethnic group to decide for another where they should be, a referendum will accord everyone the opportunity to decide for themselves. That is democracy 1 Like |

ken6488:No, you don't get it. It's better you have your country no matter how small than considering using same European-instilled structure that created Nigeria to create a South-South country. Moreover, look at the map, and tell me how Edo state is more South-South than Abia State geographically. The population of Iceland for instance is about 350,000, so small nations can be formed |
