Hey guys, hope y'all good.

So there's this wound on my big toe, which developed by itself, just like that. I've been suffering this injury for more than a year now.

I've taken many medications and treatments, all to no avail. I've met 4 deferent doctors, who apparently do not know what that is or how to treat it, they just dress it and prescribe some medicine, and that's it.

I just discovered recently that it's an Ingrown Toenail, after some research on the internet. And according to what I read, it needs a surgery to remove the Ingrown Nail, but all the doctors I've met do not know what an Ingrown Toenail is, and they usually tell me that it doesn't need a surgery.

Guys pls, this thing is really painful. I can't even walk properly with it. If you are a doctor here who knows about this, I beg you to not ignore this post

Use apple cider vinegar, don't dilute it. It will vanish in a week. I have treated something similar, that defied all drugs until I came across apple cider vinegar.

Almost every guy(especially the football lovers) that attended missionary/government and or private schools in Nigeria had this painful and sweet injury.

Sweet in the sense that when it gets to a certain stage and you are pressing it to remove the liquid, it gives a tingling sensation.
It's more common to the hand's(finger's) own.

This will only get rid of the infection op has got but won't stop the nail from growing the wrong way.


Whenever I noticed this on me I always find a way to cut the nail cause last time I let it ,it turned to open wound.

I though I haven't had such for months now.

Sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you. It once happened to me and the only and final solution to it is surgery by removing the ingrown nail. The pus can be very odorous. I should believe that many doctors are familiar with the procedure. Try and see a good doctor to assist you. Don't think it will go by itself.

My husband had this same issue, it took 4 good years before the leg got healed, he had an operation on the leg, he was told the nail was not growing the way it ought to ,so the growth will be corrected through an operation. He had the operation, to be honest with you, the toe was wosrt than before he had the operation. To cut the story short, a professor of biochemistry paid us a visit and he saw his leg, he narrated the story to him, the professor aske him to get lysol ( Royal Gad) this is what my husband used and to the glory of God, the leg got healed. This is an issue we never stopped thanking God in my home, 4 good years.
Please use it, it will work but you need to be consistent while applying it, it wont heal immediately but you would see the difference gradualy. It takes time but it does wonders.

It's most likely a fungal infection, a friend suffered it for almost 3 years. He eventually took it to the hospital and the toe-nail was eventually removed before they commenced treatment and he couldn't use shoes for a long time. Please visit a good hospital for treatment it will heal.

I once had something like this and it lasted several months. Remove the nail yourself with your nails and razor blade. Wear sandals or pam slippers till it heals(stop putting on covered shoe)

I've seen someone with this kinda thing..she was considering surgery till someone told her that her toe nail is growing inside and that's the cause..and advice her to try n trim the nail..she did and that was the solution

I think mine Is hereditary cuz when I showed my mum,she said she has it and her mum has It...anytime I washed my clothes,I'm always prepared for the pains afterwards,sometimes the pain is unbearable

It actually an ingrown nail, it happened to my cousin brother and my nails also try to grow inward but i always make sure i cut the nails once i started noticing pains on the side of my toe, back to the treatment my cousin applied after many years of pains and spending money on ampiclux, he met a doctor who applied acid on the side of the toe, thereafter the flesh got pilled off and the ingrown toe was cut off and treatment applied. within a month my brother recovered fully till date.

This is Ingrow toenail for sure. I've had this issue on three different occasion. I treated them my self at home. Although my doctor also recommended surgery. The first time it happed. It was so bad that it became infected. I was prescribed zinnat. But it didn't stop the pain just cleaned the infection. A friend recommended splinna an edmark product. I just applied few drop of it morning and evening for two days on the third day I saw one fat worm coming out of it. And that was the end of it. Until 4 years ago wen it came back again, I changed treatment. I always soaked my leg on Epson salt poured in mildly hot water then I applied pure hydrolic oil last thing before bed.continued for 2weeks and thats how it dried up. In treating this u need patience. Also u can take ibruphene wen the pain is much.

I am suffering the same thing too. Yea, it called growth in nail and you can manage it by removing the nail completely and allow a new nail to grow. Secondly, cut the nail where you feel the pain and within some days, you will get yourself. Though, it's going to be so painful but you just have to cut it off. You don't necessarily need a doctor for the surgery. If you can meet a good road side chemist; he will give you pain relieves injection and the then remove the nail completely and the pain is over. Sorry bro!

I had this about 4 years ago and it was very nasty. My office doctor was thoroughly helpless and I was referred to a consultant surgeon. His prescription was funny and unorthodox. He instructed me to grind flagyl into powder, sprinkle in on the site and wrap the flagyl with bandage. Surprisingly, within a week, it started healing and withing two weeks I was fine. You can give that a trial also.

Bro it does not need any surgery or u going to hospital, it's something I have dealt with so many times on my leg, it's an ingrown toenail and what you just need According to how I use to do it, just get a sharp blade and cut the nail very deep into your skin. (Note, it will be very painful)make sure you remove that nail inside.

some of the suggestions i am seeing here is dangerous. OP go to the hospital before it becomes even worse

Please opp, please go to FMC or General Hospital, it happened to me about 5 years ago, I went to private hospital and they gave me Antibiotics many times I visited the private hospital and they don't know what it is untill I decided to visit FMC Asaba they also gave me Antibiotics before they told me that the solution is Surgery to remove the Big Toe Nail, they said my Big Toe Nail is growing into my skin and mine was the same location like yours, glory be to God, I went for the surgery and it did not take more than 20 minutes and it was not painful. Please visit FMC wherever you are, they have Qualified Doctors to handle any case.

It is called ingrown toe nail. I suffered from it last year and it was removed through minor operation by Plastic Surgeon. It can also be removed by a General surgeon. So visit any teaching hospital or General hospital and u will be treated.
