This tech is not even operational yet in the US or France who are in front of the advance. Why should someone be asking when Nigeria will start using jet packs

Tunisia in talks with Kuwait for the purchase of the Kuwaiti F-18 Hornets.

The F-18 Hornets will likely be modernized in the United States before integrating the Tunisian Air Force
Kuwait has 40 F/A-18 Hornets, delivered after the Gulf war.
If the #Tunisian Air Force manages to acquire the KAF F-18s and upgrade it, it will solve the TAF urgent need for a main fighter in the short term at least.

First of let me congratulate Tunisia in acquiring the F-18s , I also do not want to appear to criticize Tunisia , however i do have an important question :
Why would Tunisia acquire an aging plane ( 20+ years ) that will almost immediately require upgrades/ modernization needs , it will also require almost certain Periodic Depot Maintenance due to its age . I understand the need to acquire such a US Asset but why not go for something more modern

The economic situation is dire currently because of covid-19 so the only solution is to acquire a cheap reliable aircraft and according to the the article Kuwait is willing to sell it with a really low price with the approve of the US who is willing to upgrade it , sadly the replacement of the F-5 cannot wait until the economic crisis ends.

If these guys were allowed to finish what they had started I guess BH and its offsprings would have been history by now. But politics and pride stopped them and we see the consequences TODAY. such a pity.

The #Tunisian Air Force is about to receive the air surveillance radars from Indra. The Indra surveillance system consists of a long range radar (+ 360km) two medium range radars (+ 200km) and a control center. Indra won the contract in 2020 at the expense of Thales and Lockheed

Nonsense. Barlow is an old, generally uneducated man now getting senile.
He is looking for money.
Boko Haram is not a force that anybody can defeat except the Nigerian Army.
It is a self healing force that is astute at hibernating.
Nigerian Army should and will finish their jobs.

We see how the NA is defeating the Iswap and BH. Barlow was able to regain the towns and villages the NA had lost. He created and trained one of the best battalions the NA ever had. Today look at how the NA ass is been whooped by BH or Iswap and he did it with less than what the NA spends today. NA has turned to be a shopping mall for those terrorists. NA can't defeat a foe with a 1 billion dollar procurement defence budget and you are here ranting. If the NA does not sit down, put pride aside and accept it can't defeat BH or Iswap with current tactics, it would keep losing and losing.

Come here. Don't exaggerate.

Barlow never had a Battalion. They were probably a company's strength or slightly more. Barlow as well as the men that fought side by side with him have all said the same thing. The key to their success was the massive support they had in terms of materiel (they had dedicated air platforms!), maneuverability and experience. Its the same thing going on for Cameroon with your BIR

The 72MSF was the tip of the spear and not the whole spear/blade. Let's not twist things.
Now, to present times, yes, the strategy is flawed but tactics? Where is your mouth when NA is on the offensive?

Imagine for a minute that you are a trained soldier.

In fact, a Lieutenant.

You have a wife and two kids.

Now, imagine that during the quarterly rotation, you were sent to Bornu to fight insurgence (Boko Haram)

On this fateful day, as you were moving with your platoon.

There was an ambush.

Gun fire ensured.

You shot with all you've got.
You know that you have a slim chance of surviving the attack.

As you were running out of ammo, you called john, your buddy, for fresh supply.

No response.

You glanced and saw John's head split into two halves.
By your left is Barry, his torso turn and one of his arm lying 10 ft away.

With nothing to fight with, you made a run for it and took a deep dive into the abondoned crater while bullets were getting fired at you.

You passed out

When you woke, you saw yourself in the hospital.

The doctor came in.
"Officer, you are awake, we did an emergency surgery"
"We had to amputate you"

We are sorry.

You then asked.

'What of my team mates ?"

"Well, you lost 18 men and 2 survivors", the doctor replied. "You and Barry.

Barry is still in intensive care."

Now, 3 months later, at the defence headquarters.

Your commanding officer, General Gida told you.
"You are back, lieutenant "

" Good news!
We rounded up all the terrorist that attacked your platoon after in another battle confrontation."

They are now in rehabilitation center.

"Can I see them?" you asked

'Sure!'

You got wheeled to the center.

They opened the door.

And yes.

' There they are !'

Across the hall,
Young men in white flowing gowns were eating fried and Jellof rice with multiple chicken parts.
Some were drinking wine.

Laughter filled the air.
Having a ball.

You were told they will soon be taken abroad on scholarship.

Government sponsored.

As you were getting back to the generals office.

Just outisde the defence headquarters gate, you saw the wives of your team, now widowed, as they agitate with high voices and placards.

"We have been abandoned!"
"Pay us our husbands benefits!"
"We are hungry"

Just imagine all that.

------

It is the reality of a Nigerian Soldier in the corridor of terrorism.

Copied......

Bro am not an expert in military matters and I can't make the difference between a battalion and a company. The issue here is that if the NA can function the same way Barlow did, the BH would be history. But the top brass of the NA keep repeating the same mistakes and errors like in 2014 or 2015. The NA has what it takes to deal with this terrorist but mismanagement, pride to recognize failure and restrategize, and lack of a proper road map to tackle these mehem.
