MightySparrow: I did that for this: My brother has only Primary School Leaving Certificate, I hardly discuss with him, he lacks the capacity to discuss with me. You are an intelligent man , a passionate truth seeker and dispenser! Wait until he becomes an elder amongst JWs, he will be shepherding God's people anywhere he goes be it America, Europe, Asia, Australia and anywhere God's people gathers. Ephesians 4:11-12 No matter my qualification, status, age, skin colour or what have you, your brother will be my shepherd once he becomes an elder in the midst of God's people while you will continue to be amazed at the intelligence i got from JWs! Matthew 16:17-19 compare to Act 4:13 JEHOVAH doesn't appoint people due to their exposure, educational background, status, race or skin colour {Act 10:34-35} no matter what you think about your brother JWs from America, from Europe, from Asia, From Africa, from Australia will cherish, respect, honour and love him just as Jesus loves us! MaxInDHouse: Jehovah had to replace Peter with Paul who had education and understand the Law. Your publications are filled with conjectures by people with half truths based on ignorance of GB. Even C. T. Russell himself was an ignorant man. A blind wanting to lead the seeing. He was once prosecuted for scriptural fraud, these were his responses in Law court: After several delays the case came before Police Court Magistrate G. F. Jelfs on March 17, 1913. During cross-examination Russell said that he had attended public school for seven years, having left when he was about fourteen years of age, after which he received instruction through private tutors.[92] He said that he was versed in Latin terms "to an extent" but did not know Hebrew or Greek, that he had never been ordained by any bishop or minister, and had never attended a theological seminary or any schools of higher learning.[93][94] He never studied the languages of the Bible, dishing out nonsense. Google it. The same goes on today, those who would have brought changes to the organisation are called apostates, intimidated, and excommunicated. So, where is the truth you brag about? 1 Like |

Janosky: He's suffering from shame and guilt after spewing gibberish! Most people often get confused regarding the role of the apostles in the first century. Since these men are imperfect humans like all others why do we need to be submissive to them? Hebrews 13:7, 17 And how can we be submissive without being gullible? Act 17:11 In the first century Jesus had many disciples due to his preaching and teaching in the ministry but out of this group he selected twelve men to serve as Apostles {Luke 6:13} this twelve proved to be loyal to a fault as they were with the rest when Jesus uttered what seems like heresy in the hears of all his disciples! John 6:63-69 After they've passed all the test Jesus prayed for them {John 17:8-9} in his prayer he mentioned the case of Judah Iscariot {John 17:12} who loves riches but kept following Jesus! John 12:4-6 So how can we be submissive to this little group without been gullible? First thing we should have in mind is their part or role Jesus gave them as assignment. They are to oversee the preaching, teaching and all arrangement having to do with the Kingdom work. Second thing we should have in mind is that they are imperfect humans just like all others in the world so they're not infallible in any way. But then how do we RECOGNIZE them in the world that's full of religious leaders of all kinds having followers here and there? Jesus said by their FRUITS we will differentiate each religious leader and what they stand for {Matthew 7:15-20} this means there is a fruit expected of those following Jesus so if a religion failed to produce this particular fruit then the leaders of such religion are false. |
Re: What Authority Do Those Serving As Apostles Have Over The Church? by MaxInDHouse(m): 7:34pm On Jun 17 |
With that we will RECOGNIZE the group God is using as His representatives and work with them in doing God's will just as the inhabitants of Beroea did in the first century {Act 17:11} after meeting the apostles and seeing them perform mighty supernatural signs they still study what the scriptures said about Jews who will be God's representatives during the endtime! Zechariah 8:23 But how can we avoid being gullible? There has never been a time in the history of God's people that a prophet of God is perfect in everything he does so we should expect flaws common in all imperfect humans. The only thing we should keep in mind is how they are fulfilling the assignment given to them as written in the scriptures. So at times a member of the flock can notice the flaws in the way a member of the apostles handled some matters {Galatians 2:11-14} but does that mean they're no longer representing God? NO! As long as they're meeting up with their assignment we must cooperate with them in doing the work given to them human flaws shouldn't stop use from working with them. An example of this is the case of John the baptist. This man was the last Israelite prophet foretold to prepare the way for the Christ and John fulfilled that role but after his arrest and detention for many days John who baptized Jesus, heard God's voice in connection with Jesus' baptism and preached to others that Jesus is the Christ began having doubts about Jesus! John had to send his own disciples to go and ask Jesus if he truly is the Christ or they should be expecting someone else! Matthew 11:2-3 Hmmmmmmmmmm, what will Jesus a perfect human did after hearing the words from John's disciples? Did Jesus scold John for such unwarranted doubt? NO! Jesus knew that John was imperfect and that he must have had a misconception about him so Jesus sent back John's disciples to go and tell him what he is doing! Matthew 11:5 What is the essence of Jesus' response? What has Jesus' performance of miracles and good news regarding God's Kingdom got to do with rescuing John from detention? Well Jesus' response simply means "i'm doing exactly what the scriptures foretold regarding the Christ's presence in Israel" So despite the fact that Jesus was perfect and without flaws John could sense that this young man is truly the Christ as he is fulfilling what the scriptures foretold regarding the Christ! Well John the baptist ended his life in detention because it was from there that the order came from the king to behead John in prison! Matthew 14:3-10 What did Jesus have to say about this faithful servant of God despite his doubt? Well Jesus declared to everyone listening that day that there has never risen a prophet in Israel that's greater than John the baptist! Matthew 11:11 So to RECOGNIZE God's representatives in our time all we need to focus on is the fulfillment of God's promises as foretold about our time not perfection on the part of God's servants or setting goals that's not recorded in the scriptures for them. John the baptist believe that Jesus is the Christ so he expected Jesus to come and deliver him from prison after all he has been hearing of all the mighty works this young man is performing throughout the land so releasing him from prison shouldn't be difficult for such a powerful prophet. Yet when he heard what Jesus said through his own disciples he agreed that Jesus is doing what the scriptures foretold and he is not in the position to set goals for the Christ! |

The apostles were given the assignment to gather disciples for Jesus throughout the earth and continue teaching them how to remain obedient to God's Kingdom so that by the time Christ comes with his angels to exterminate all evildoers faithful and obedient humans will be spared! Psalms 37:34 But then how can someone miss out even after meeting with Jesus' apostles? By the time Jesus walked the earth Satan has caused a lot of confusion among the Jews using the same temple in Jerusalem so there was contradicting views about how Jerusalem will be delivered from the hands of oppressors in the political struggles going on around the world at that time. Nations kept defeating one another to stand as world power so during the time Jesus walked the earth the Romans were the world power that's why they appointed governors throughout all the districts under their domain including Judea (Jesus' motherland) so the Jews back then were expecting the Messiah (Christ) to come and deliver them from the world power and establish a Jewish system of rule over all the earth {Act 1:6} because that's what they thought after reading the inspired writings! Isaiah 9:6-7; Daniel 2:44 So different religions using the temple each had their own theory regarding how the Christ will make this happen but then John the baptist whom 98% of the Jews back then view as a prophet introduced Jesus of Nazareth to them as the Christ yet Jesus wasn't doing anything about Rome rather he was telling the Jews to love the Romans as their neighbors and continue paying tribute to the Roman emperor! Mark 12:17 After all said and done Jesus was killed by the Jews who felt he's not their own Messiah as he wasn't meeting up with their expectations. So let's put ourselves in the shoes of the first century Jewish community if we find ourselves in the same situation how many of us would have become a disciple of such a person? After his demise his closest confidants continued with his legacy and God showed by His power that this little group has His approval. If you are alive back then will you humbly be submissive to this little group? How are you going to do so without idolizing them? |
