So I got the notification from emzor to com for test/interview today and as it stands now I need to make a decision now before monday next week.
SCHOOL
Renumeration: 30k/month but likely to be reduced if no means to meet up by the proprietor.

Promised to assist by paying a part of the rent close to the school. Though don't know his future plans if he will attach people to me.

Working duration/day: 7:15a.m - 3 pm. Saturdays and Sundays are mine though writing of lesson note would cut a reasonable chunk of it.

Already informed the proprietor about NPower application and pending deployment so I would take permission to attend to that when it starts.

*Downside*
Renumeration isn't constant as I'm made to understand.

Writing of lesson notes for 9 classes (Mathematics: jss1-ss3, physics: ss1-ss3) is somehow mentally draining.
Tfare: ₦440/day

Wouldn't want to stay in my parents house at this age and because of the situation of things interms of cost of living. I would obviously leave with them till June ends before I can move into my new apartment.

*Factory work (emzor)*
Passed their interview and test today and high probability of getting an invite for training on Monday as we were informed by the interviewer.

Renumeration: basically 30k excluding O.T, health insurance and other benefits.
Working duration: 8a.m - 5pm( morning shift). Same hours for night shift.

Tfare: ₦400/day.
Weekends are off and can be used for O.T at your own discretion.

Please I really need your advice on this and your constructive criticisms are welcome. Thank.
I will appreciate it more if this isoved to front page please it's urgent. Help a brother with your candid advice.
if u love yourself don't go for teaching,it's called modern day slavery.it will rob u of so many opportunities n at the same time nobody will appreciate u.

Everyone blames d teacher, the student who doesn't read n fail will complain it's d teacher that didn't teach him well, the parents who doesn't have time to monitor his wards will blame the teacher n the management will use the teacher to save face by saying "we will get another teacher"..... coupled with the fact that the pay isn't encouraging.

These were d same word I gave a friend back then n he told me he will add lesson to it only for the kids not to pay at d end of the day.

Take the factory job n try to network yourself

Factory Job no matter hw Good d pay is, is for Secondary Skul leavers!!

Boys of 18/19 years of Age. Same as Filling Station, POS Cashier jobs, etc..

For a Graduate, Teaching job is Better, though has small salary..But it gives you time to pursue other ventures since you are free on Sat n Sun

My Friend who is a Teacher is also a good Painter!! Gets contracts once Ina while to paint stores, storey-buildings, etc..He said he is planning to leave Teaching very soon..

So Take d Teaching Job!! Leave Factory work for Young Boys!!..

Go for the emzor job because the teaching job will stress you out Plus the money is not commesurate to the job.

Worst still with the school job is, the pay is not static. So, drop it and go for the one with that won't stress you much while you be on the look out for a better job.

Like you said, you are a science teacher, you can organise two hour extra lessons for interested pupil after school close.. You go home by 5pm.. Let me say each student pay 5k for lesson, you gather at least 10 student.. You have extra fifty thousand or so..

Good idea/suggestion but from experience, students in such schools where the salary is around 30k can't afford to pay 5k for lesson

Naija hard, you need to go out there and make a living.

Imma also keep it one hunnid witcha.

Let me give you a brotherly advice, and I hope you work on it...
First of all I counsel people and I have done that on nairaland for a while... I have met great and good guys...
I dropped a story about my experience teaching in two schools as a corper and would not mind partnering with schools in abuja, but some accused me of looking for teaching job... Never ever mind what people say...
Back to the matter...
As a graduate, teaching and earning 15k, e no bad... But once you have a good (android) phone, go to any car stand of your choice around your area... Listen well, any good car stand and ask to see the manager... Tell him you want to help him market his cars and get good buyers... 90% of car stand managers will sign u on... Tel him you will be paid a small commission after sales...
Pick up your phone, snap as many cars as your phone memory can take, open a dedicated twitter ac, IG ac, Facebook ac, WhatsApp ac, ac etc... Take out time to post this cars, make sure you have the actual prices of this cars... You can add as much as #250k on it... Bring down the negotiations to as low as making #50k if need be just so I can sell. Set your monthly target... I assure you, if you get I client in a month, u make around #100,000k once you start growing, you can get as much as 5-10 client from all over the country and that hits you over #1m for just helping others sell their cars, Note all you invested was your time, energy, phone and data... No big financial capital...
Do not restrict yourself to cars, go for industrial machines as well, caterpillars, mikano gens, any thing, then you look for those big companies that need them and try to call their attention to it or market it to them... You may not sell in 3 months but when you manage to get a client to buy just 1 caterpillars, my brother you will instantly forget that u suffered before...
A friend of mine was marketing a silo for a local wielder, he received a call all the way from kebbi state, the purchase was made in Ilorin, he made #1.8 mil from buyers and #400k from seller... He still got a referral from that deal. Wake up bro...
Within a month or two, come and pay (tite).
I drive uber/bolt in abuja, market cars, sell commodities such as beans, maize, wheat, ginger, onions, name it... In bags and tonnes
And I make nothing less than half a mil monthly...

Affordable megatron 40,000mah powerbanks with 4 output units, type c and normal usb cord. payment on delivery within Lagos and Nationwide dispatch

Go for the teaching job.
Teaching is good but the thing is that our reward is in heaven.

Go for the Private School. Once you've use a year, all do is just copy ur old lesson notes. And there are opportunities of doing private lessons.
If you're serious with lessons, you'll get more than your salary from it.

Moreover, teaching is not hard labour like the factory

I'll go with the school work since it is mentally tasking, but don't accept if their closing time extends beyond 4pm on weekdays and 2pm on Friday in order to have time for recuperation.
From there you could find better things to do.
Also confirm from the teachers there if they don't owe payment of salaries.
Re: Private Secondary School Vs Emzor Factory Worker by Indispensable85(m): 4:04pm On May 08, 2021
It's a pity that emzor is paying a meagre 30k. But it has a better prospect than teaching in a private school. You'll sure have opportunity to grow in emzor if you're diligent.
Re: Private Secondary School Vs Emzor Factory Worker by ruzell86: 4:09pm On May 08, 2021
Take the School job if you want to use your time well.

Take the Factory job if you want to kill your time.

One could get you refined in the long term, while the other could get you short term benefits (but with little or no development), depending on you.

Look. I will advice you to go for that factory work.
Looking at the number of classes you are taking and your subject combination, it is more likely to be very very hectic... Mathematics from jss1 to sss 3 is much ooo each class will have at least 4 periods in a day so you will have nothing more than 24 periods in mathematics and 6 periods in physics total 30 periods of shouting and explanations cos your subjects are not simple ones that may not require much talk. Situation will become bad if you have some low achievers in class.

Extra lesson? Yes it is good but many parents can owe for Africa and it's so so annoying to have more money outside than in your pocket. Also, some schools doesn't allow extra lesson within the school. They will rather ask you to do it for some students that they will recommend for you they may collect like 5k from them and pay you 1k.... Unless you want to be going to homes for home lesson.

Lastly, you are calculating 30k a month have you considered holiday periods? Or is the school owner going to pay for holidays?
Imagine 3rd term-first term holiday without salary...

You will not have any time left for yourself if you choose the teaching job. You will end up using your weekends to write lesson notes consistently. Then on weekdays when school dismisses by 3pm, how are you sure you will leave immediately? They might want you to handle extra-classes.

On the other hand, if you choose the factory work, you are free on weekends. And since it's based on shift, any time you're on night shift it means you're free during the day.

Ultimately, you should choose the one that will give you enough time to acquire additional skills. So that you can have a side hustle that will generate a steady income for you as time goes on.
