If you okay you wouldn't be here talking shits, you should be directing the Anambra International Airport delivery team AIADT on what to do and not on nairaland.

What's holding you to start discussing about maintenance, you own category of fool eeeh, you are talking about maintenance on an airport that's yet to be fully completed and start operation.

"Anambra International Airport To Be Commissioned In July"- Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano has said the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, would be commissioned mid-July for commercial operations.

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Primus Odili, who addressed newsmen in Awka, yesterday, on behalf of the governor said: “By July this year, possibly mid-July, the airport will be officially commissioned. By this time, all facilities befitting of a modern international cargo and passenger airport must have been ready and in place. The airport portends a good fortune for the entire South East region. The importance of the airport cannot be over-stressed as it would boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state, help traders transport their goods and services as well as a host of other benefits which can hardly be quantified.”

He said what happened on April 30 was not the official inauguration of the airport for public use, but a test-run of the runway.

“On Friday, April 30 this year, we organised a ceremony where we summoned Anambra people and friends of the state to the airport for a test-run of the runway to ascertain whether it was fit for aircraft to land and takeoff. Test-run of facilities are series of routine checks before an airport is commissioned for public use. A lot of tests had taken place at the airport before the event of April 30; the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had carried out tests on the runway to ascertain its quality prior to the actual test-run of the airport.”

He said the inauguration of the cargo airport in Anambra would ensure all cargoes come directly into the state at very reduced cost.

I would have been shocked if Ned Media did not attend the test flight demonstration. His video and Eboh Media's were some of the best documentaries during the construction. I have come to love these two vloggers and their ways of telling a story through their unique perspectives.

Thanks for the compliments CJ.

This is expected. More will join the business. You know Anambra people don't dull in things like these. Three airlines owned by Anambra indigenes have already committed to the airport for both local and international destinations. The Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri will be the nemesis of nearby airports. Anambra will begin to witness new mega investments because of the airport. Many thanks to our visionary governor, Akpokuedike Aguleri.

Hmm...the way rent is shooting up ehnn in Awka is something else. Especially shop rent. A tiny shop wic is not even up to how many ceilings be going for 200k then the crazy agents fee whic some of these wicked agents charge. How can u be charging 50-80% for agents fee..who taught our pple this kind of greed?
I took someone along zik Avenue to see a shop which she was called to come check...not so big a b going 4 600k and must be 4 2yrs...haha

The purchasing power is still low as compared to Onitsha biz...so why shoot rent prices so high?
Our pple should take it easy with the yearn 4 money. These are issues that make most of our pple to migrate far from home. The love and greed for money is too much by those outletting.
Govt should kindly look into these issues

For agency fee...it should be 10-15% of the rent....simple. How can someone be renting a shop of 300k paying 4 2yrs and agency fee be going as high as 150-200k. Na wa o

Inside the terminal building, work is progressing rapidly with the walls and floors being tiled.

One can only imagine what the finished product would look like!

It looks like they have adopted the same attitude of accepting only a perfect finish as they did for the tower. I hope they also incorporate the use of brown or red bricks to beautify some of the walls. Especially along walkways, disabled ramps, or corridors.

One hopes that landscaping of the entire airport with grass, flowers,& trees including the car parks and the main access dual carriageway is pursued with the same vigor as physical structures completion.

Landscaping is a very important part of project finishing that is often ignored in Nigeria. Thus making Nigerian projects look like uncompleted structures because of the absence of proper landscaping. Hopefully in this project, enjoys generous landscaping to totally transform the ambiance of the environment.

I don't know who is building this structure that is located at Udoka estate, first gate Awka, it has underground floors from Kwata flyover looking at the building you will notice they are on the 8th floor but from inside the estate 7th floor decking they are casting, that's where I stand to capture the building, the way they are going I guess it will be the tallest building here in Awka, as it's now you will be seeing the building from Regina junction

He wants to complete both of them at the same time. But the Agulu own will be hotel, I don't know if he wants Awka own to be hotel also.

Very good. By the time they are done completely, it will be the tallest building in SE . More of such tall buildings for hotels, event centre,, etc are springing up in Awka. Good job

From what i’m seeing, it does look like it’s topped out already. And I counted the ground floor with 5 stories on top.
