The Edo state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party has accused Governor Godwin Obaseki of causing problems within the party.

The chapter made this known through a letter written by Chief Tony Aziegbemi and Hillary Otsu, the state party chairman and secretary respectively, and addressed to Prince Uche Secondus, the PDP national chairman.

In the letter, the state chapter also fingered Philip Shaibu, the state’s deputy governor Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Chief Tom Ikimi, Chief Mike Oghiadhome and others as working with Governor Obaseki to usurp the function of the state executive and create problem for the party.

Very soon he will come out to defend himself again with the narrative that Edo State PDP chapter is fighting him because he refused their demand to share the state's funds for them in addition to fighting godfatherism in PDP. The worst part of it all is that majority of Edo State natives will fall for the gimmick a second time while forgetting that he actually shared the state's funds for the PDP to be admitted into the party and given the last guber ticket unopposed.
If Edo State voters could fall for the cheap campaign gimmick in 1999 that Lucky Igbinedion would govern well because as Oredo LGA chairman he used to share his salary for market women, then it won't be any surprise if they fall again for this new tale of fighting PDP godfathers that Obaseki is very likely to come up with very soon.

Mr chairman as a politician you are supposed to understand that in politics opportunity is more important than integrity or morality. Going by the names you mentioned, it is clearer to the blind that you've lost grip on the ‘Edo PDP big Bois', i will advice you try and re-strategies, join them, so they don't extricate you from the party. The law you are looking at to save you, is dormant when the odds are against you. At least thats Nigeria version of rule of law.
