If the police can't guarantee Baba Ijesha's safety from public outlash or harm (e.g. likeanyoe wanting total cutting of his Dickson Johnthomas Schoolbag) if giving bail, then Baba Ijesha becomes an unacceptable risk, and so will be refused bail and remain kept in custody for his own protection.

This matter get as e be

As far as am concerned, police can keep him as long as they don't maltreat him

I am not in support of child abuse of any form but critically looking at the whole scenario, all of the people involved in this whole matter have case to answer.

As for Baba Ijesha, I expect him to be more sensible than what he put himself into be it setup or not I do t expect him to stoop so low to that extent.

I assume he is married so what is he looking for in a girl that was said to be under 18yrs?

We all should think properly before we take any action

I doubt be can pull that, when the delay is from the judiciary themselves

How is it from the judiciary? The police should grant him bail of course it will be with surety.

This case requires critical thinking/handling.

If truly his acts is bailable, he should be granted bail while he can still be charged to court. Or must the person be in police custody before he can be charged to court ?

This is unlawful detention Mr CP

It is only court that can grant bail for some offences.

This is the useless system we operate works. Keeping that man in custody against his Constitutional right to bail is unlawful.

I wonder where Lagos police got that professional advise to keep ijesha more than requested by the Constitution or are they trying to say that Lagos State law now supercedes the Constitution?

This is what they keep doing and when it gets to court and the judge throws out the case they will start looking for who to blame. Something that is purely white this people will make everyone believe it is black haba.

From which judiciary?
Police would have granted bail and then charge him to court whenever they resume. There is no law that push blame to the judiciary if an individual is kept in detention for more than 24hrs without being charge to court because the judiciary was on strike.

Police has the right to detain the bloody child molester for as long as possible. If they believe he poses a flight risk. Those who are protesting in support of a child rapist should be ashamed of themselves.

So because people are married they cannot molest a 14 years old. Yes, the girl is 14 not 18. undecided FYI most child molesters are ussually married and even have their own children.

The judiciary isn't the one who detained him, he is being detained by the police and its unlawful. I feel the Nigerian police goofed on this one, in all it's as a result of a failed system.

Lol

Nigerian police has answers to everything. Lol. They have already charged him to court anyhow. Maybe they even pushed the case in after the strike started, but the case has been stamped accepted in the court. Lol. Police didnt report or say anything before oooo, but as soon as they finished the work (runs), they opened mouth. So, it means only the judge can set a bail or bond for him. It is beyond the bail condition of police station. But hmmmmm..... if Baba Ijesha has a good lawyer, he may twist the story. All he needs is a loophole to hold police. In any case Police no send either the defendant or complainant. Theirs is to protect police dirty work.

lmao @ protect police dirty work.

When is the advise from ministry of justice now superseding fundamental human rights as contained in the Nigerian constitution?

Nigerians only follow laws whenever we are at the receiving ends. And it is more funny that some people are supporting this madness all because they are feminists. Dumb mofos

Don't mind them all... The long unlawful detention will be an albatross to the police because, the statement of the constitution on human rights is clear...

Is it his fault that the JUSUN is on strike?

How would that be a condition to releasing him on bail?

Does that mean everyone that has been arrested ever since the commencement of the strike action are in police detention till date?

Nigeria Police is known for dirty job and may never change for better.

Bro the case like i said requires critical analysis and believe me it’s a case to be thoroughly studied. However am not justifying Baba Ijesha acts but some power that be is trying to manipulate the whole thing.

Same Cp said it’s a bailable offense, what happened now? Why is he still in detention, he should be granted bail then once JUSUN resume arraign him
