Sentiment have defeated us in Nigeria. People no longer reason with their brains, but with emotions.

Truth be told, is Baba Ijesha's crime bail able? If it is then I see no reason whatsoever why he's still being held.
You can go and bail him

this iyabo ojo's own is too much. what exactly is her problem??
Why is she too much? Should she continue to keep quiet and do nothing why the guy continues to make mess of her and her case?

Mr dude, what tears are coming out of your eyes? Everyone knows that shes been getting molested since the past 7 years. Do you expect the planned video get to the point where he would insert his penis into her vagina before it is called an evidence? You're dull sir.
.... There is no evidence to show that he has been molesting her for 7 years.

The video didn't show any form of rape

And I am the dull one?

Cases aren't won based on allegations of "everyone knows", proofs and evidences are needed...

Once again, am I the dull one?

The joke is on you

Dude, there is no evidence for a rape that's been happening over 7 years. Have you ever seen an evidence like that? Except the woman starts shouting and people rush in there. But in a case where something has been happening for years, there is no evidence. As long as the child says that. Look, i have know someone who's been in a situation like this and it even takes the grace of God for them to say it out afterward. I have read lots of rape cases, this thing destroys them.

Do you want to have a female child and God forbid, tells you something like this, then you say you're are waiting for evidence. I take my stance, you're dull.

And for the record, your disrespectful way of telling me i'm tearing made me reply you with you're "dull." Now, who is the dull one?

Ps: in fact, tell me. I saw a very short clip of the video where he started making advances. Are you saying to have sex with a 14 your old, consensual or not is legal in the Nigeria's Law? Or Why would he even make advances to a minor in the first place. You're trying to tell me now that if you see and adult making sexual advances to your child and or teenage sister, you're just going to sit down and say there is no evidence?
Has your brain started working now?

You all are sounding like educated illiterates. I see a flood of mentally deranged replies on this move. Tell me, in a sane country would the Yomi still be able to walk freely? Like someone said, is the crime a bailable one? The case would be lost and nothing will be done in Nigeria but this woman is trying to make that not happen, are you all blind. Is it until he roams freely and your sisters his next victim?

You all are annoying. Do you know how badly rape affects people? It destroys most people totally, be it guy or girl. You all who say nonsense are dull brain cells. You people are not even qualified to complain about Nigeria's situation, i am terribly disappointed in you people.
This is in fact the most uneducated reply so far, at least from a legal perspective. From the perspective of the law, the accused is still innocent. Of course, we all saw the video and know that he is guilty, but guilt is to be pronounced in Court, and per the dictates of our legal system,he is entitled to bail as he would be in any sane country.

Now I don't know your definition of sane country but I will tell you that even murder is bailable in the Western countries. Do your best to understand that bail is not an acquittal.

I am wrong with the bailable thing and I will say i was emotional about it but it's still besides my point. This is a part of the reply I gave someone:

You are still in tears.... Funny enough an average Nigerian has someone that something has happened to and FYI, If my daughter claims to have been raped by someone, I will definitely need evidence (medically or through confession: non of which this case has presented ) to prosecute such person.
Please save me this stories and present evidence of continuous rape for 7 years... Check her private part FFS. There should be evidence of forceful entry.. You can't rape a minor for 7 years without any damage.
Once again, I am not moved by your watery eyes and emotional talks.

Once again, cases are not won by mere allegations.

Didn't you see this in my response?

Now as a father in this unfortunate situation I might murder any such bastard. But this is why no man can be a judge in his own case. As an impartial arbiter of the law, my duty is to the Law. I would be strongly obligated to maintain a veneer of neutrality.

That is the law and the law must be upheld no matter what. That is why one of the first principles of Law is "let justice be done though the heavens may fall".

What blackmail? She was at Panti to protest against the release of the alleged Baba Ijesha.

This Yomi's response is too passive. He should just laugh it off. And get a correct lawyer to sue her for defamation of character, unwarranted public ridicule, cyber bullying and stalking. His lawyer should also cause actions for libel and other criminal aspect of her exploits against his person.

Disappointed in me?
Like I live to impress you?

There is definitely an underlying tone to your "Nigerian hospitals "

If you don't believe in the health sector of Nigeria to carry out test to prove the crime, how do you want to win the case before the law?
By guilt tripping the judge and telling him/her that he/she is dull? Or asking if it was to be his or her daughter?

Or you will just be the judge, jury and executioner?
Take a chill pill and enjoy the festivities of today.

I am very sure you do know that there is no provable evidence for this case and that is why that setup video was made in the first place. Now, as far as my knowledge permits me, once there's a case of rape by a minor in the western countries, then it's straight jail term. Lots of careers has been abruptly halted because of this. Do you remember this westerners are far more advanced than us?

Let me say how this case would most likely end. There is no evidence against the accused and the courts grants him freedom.

Now, I see why this girl told me she cannot come out to say what happened to her because she described a scenario like this and I honestly now reason with her, she will only be the one in shame. And sadly, it happened again (now as an adult) but she cannot say anything because she knows Nigerians more than I do. This is sad.

I have a question for you. Do you believe the little girl, that she has been getting raped for 7 years or not? If yes, how would you prove it with the exact same realistic state of country?

Did you watch the video? Was it rape or Molestation?. Has the court sitted talkless of giving a final verdict? Like you said Educated illiterate. For this case it is bailable according to the constitution. We should channel our energy to the legislators to amend that part of the constitution. One cannot be clouded by emotions and still have common sense.
Hence, I do not support rape and any form of molestation.

Stop speculating on things you're not knowledgeable about. There is no developed legal system anywhere in the world where an allegation on its own is sufficient to warrant a conviction. There must be supporting evidence.

In this case, the video is evidence that can be tendered in Court so i'm not sure what your argument is about again.
