Hello family!!!
Please, I need your advice.
Q1: I studied something relating to Maritime and I want to change my career path to InfoSec.
Should I apply for pre-master/PDG or I should apply for MSc in Computer Science or I should apply for MSc in Maritime/Marine related courses then I can change later?
Q2: If a prospective school waived English Proficiency for Nigerians, do I still need t to submit an English proficiency test score during visa
application?

Please, guys, I need your view. Thanks

I've been complaining about this ill-treatment for a while now, but it's a good thing some of us are waking up to the reality. I understand we have been programmed not to speak up when we're being oppressed, but when you see how most indians are being treated like kings, you'll see the reason to speak up. It is well

Thanks Jare madam...

1) if you apply for a masters in Computer science, I do not beleive you will be admitted because you dont have the prerequisite courses needed to admit you into a masters program in computer science even if you have the experience but if you go for a pgd and you have the experience, you have a chance cos they consider your cv more a times but its a 50/50 situation.
Again I will humbly suggest you go for a pgd or masters related to maritime because you will need to convince a visa officer that you have a career progression and academic progression.

2) do you have evidence you were waived English proficiency? If yes, you can attach it along witj English proficiency from your school in Nigeria. Mind you, NBS is optional meaning you mustn't submit ielts if you dont want to.

Hello Fam,

I have applied for Masters in two universities in Canada: UniOttawa and Carleton University. The courses are Digital Transformation/Innovation and Technology Innovation Mgt respectively.

I graduated with 2.1 (GPA 3.9) in Marketing, and has worked for over 5 years as Executive Assistant, with a certification in Project Mgt; combined with training in Digital Marketing.

Please do you think my intended courses align fully well with my academic and professional background, to guarantee me admission and visa?

Thanks.

Hello @ Borntosucced, have you been granted admission for the TIM program at Carleton University?

I know of someone who applied and haven't got decision yet.

I have paid first semester tuition. And the company might have more than 10M.
Also the living expenses of 10kCAD will definitely be in my account

But i still need to show the bank statement of my sponsor, even as i will mention it in my SOP.
They better have way more than 10m in their account. A letter from the company showing their commitment to sponsoring you will go a long way. It's still a very difficult circumstance tho. The letter has to be very detailed. They must answer the important question.
Why are they sponsoring you to Canada when there are cheaper options in Nigeria.

Gurus, I am a January applicant and I haven’t gotten a decision till date. I was meant to start classes this month( May) but I had to defer. But unfortunately my school had a full capacity already for September session and had to choose January 2022 and I was told I won’t get a new LOA till when they start processing in July 2021.
So my question is, if for instance I get a PPR this month (May) how do I let IRCC know that I have deferred to January pending the time I get my new LOA from my school as I won’t want to be asked to do a fresh visa application.

You will need to contact your school and let them know of the change in your visa situation. That way, they would process your admission letter. Apart from that, you will need to wait till you get a PPR

When did you apply in January? I would say you should wait till May End before you make your decisions.
It will end in Praise

Computer based IELTS is better because you don't have to worry about your handwriting legibility, you can go back and make corrections to what you have written without having to cancel. And most people are generally faster at typing than they are at writing, so you save more time. On top of all that your results would come out faster if you use computer based. So for me it is a no brainer.

Hi Guys,
My inquiry is concerning studying(graduate program) and working and living in canada.
I have a degree in medical laboratory science which i got 2 years ago so my work experience is just 1 year internship and 1 year nysc.
I finished with a 2.9 CGPA which makes me ineligible for a masters, my next options are grad dip, grad cert and advanced dip
The only grad dip i found have intakes for only sept and this year is already gone in respect to visa application. But i have found some programs for grad certificate and advanced diploma with jan 2022 intakes
- I found a couple grad certificate programs for health care administration/manag. in some colleges in ontario, fanshawe, st lawrence etc
-then advanced dip for biotechnology fast track
What do you think is best in respect to acquiring a student visa and also finding a good job and settling in canada?
I look forward to your help. Thanks.
