But of course we still have some intelligent and promising individual on this platform but the bulk of the population are quite far away from reality,basic decency, courtesy or intelligence,this is the only website people can use monikers like Rapist, rapistonbail,ifuckyourmother, terrorist and other ridiculously foolish names easily.

This is the only website where you can threaten to rape and kill someone without any fear of consequences from the so called useless Admin.
Tribalism,bigotry in this forum is so ridiculous that it feels like the owner even encourages it.

There are too many useless perverted individual on this forum and seun accomodates all of them happily all because of user stats.

This is why some of us are fast losing interest in this once useful forum, compared to the likes of quora,Reddit , Twitter etc this site is embarrassingly poor.you can't come into nairaland to read meaningful articles or converse with intelligent individuals this days,all there is to see is unlimited perverting and uneccessary celebrity news.

I just want to add that Quora actually has its own dark side full of seemingly "perverted" individuals who aren't necessarily breaking any law or constituting threats to others (I mean the sexuality section). The app only shows you what you want to see. But like you said, it is more authentic and even such individuals still exhibit remarkable decorum when interacting with one another.

However, I believe the major difference between this site and the ones you mentioned is not necessarily the reg fields. Most of them still authenticate using email and anyone can easily create one (people have multiple accounts on Facebook too). The difference is the people ware (users and administrators). Nigerians are inconsiderate, unempathetic and somewhat hostile in nature. Forums like this just reveal these characteristics. The administrators here are easily overwhelmed and many of them (being Nigerians themselves) don't see certain things as unacceptable.

That is where you must make a trade off between functionality and user privacy. If you are banned on Facebook, you can't signup with the same phone, the same number, the same email address, or by using any WiFi network which you may have used your suspended Facebook account on. This functionality is available because of the amount of data the app collects while you're using it (details about your device, your location, your movements, your cookies, etc.) Someone like you would still complain when you realize that the app you're using leaves you with no privacy at all. But then, you can't have your cake once you've eaten it.

Don't get me wrong, I also believe the app needs more features and the administrators need to do more to curtail the excesses of the users. I'm just pointing out some considerations and designs decisions involved. I had an interesting chat here last year on how ML could be used to solve some of these problems, but that's a discussion for another day.

Removing things that aren't right after they are posted is not a long-term solution.
Between posting and reporting and removal, hundreds would have consumed that information.
