Yes, you missed something. In EPL, the first consideration is points, if there is a tie, next consideration is goal difference. If there is still a tie after this, then goal scored is considered. If there is still a tie, then goal conceeded is considered. That is who has the few goals conceeded. It is after this that head to head is considered.
