1. Nigeria has never built a warship for $7.5 billion infact how much is an aircraft carrier that a war ship alone will go for such outrageous amount..

2. Our economy is totally dependent on oil and guess what Mr man we get most of our oil from the sea in our EEZ (Economy exclusive zone), if pirates decide to start blowing up rigs and platforms on the seas and the navy ain't cruising around who stops them..

3. Launching a missile ain't as easy as u see in the movies, missiles are maintained, missiles are upgraded regularly because air defences are too funny thing is our neighbours esp Chad has more sophisticated air defences

Also, it is stated in the report that this is a new ship and it takes the name Lana which is the name of the one decommissioned under the corrupt PDP/ GEJ administration. What I drew your attention to is that the GEJ administration decommissioned a ship and didn't get it replaced even in the face of obvious need to replace the one his administration de-commissioned with him as the Grand Commander of The Armed Forces, rather his administration outsourced the security task the Lana he decommissioned and didn't replace should have done to Tompolo, his kinsman ,Ijaw man( emphasis is mine to draw attention to the nepotism of that administration too) and one who once took up arms against the FG.

That is referenced for posterity and to help me appreciate the government for not passing on the task of replacing that ship decommissioned by his predecessor to his successor while our waterways remain unsafe.

If the corrupt PDP/ GEJ administration that decommissioned Lana 1 had built a new one, this would have been the second ship so that we have both in use or one as back up when there's need for security reinforcements.

I am sure the Naval officers are happy and you can read the pride of being a Nigerian Navy personnel in the statement they made in Ghana. God bless President Muhammadu Buhari. God bless Nigeria.

Nigeria does not have capacity to defeat Ghsna in battle at the moment. We hv very weak institutions and almost none existent indigenous technology.

Besides, you cannot wage war on others because they chose to implement their constitution. If Nigeria is so useless to enforce ECOWAS protocols but all allows herders to wreck havoc, is nobody's business. you will not victimize others for endorsing their laws.

In other words a ship for weather forecast and fishing at a time when we need ships with better arms and weaponry to fight insecurity and insurgency,smh..misplaced priority
