I was on Twitter in 2019 when burna boy was invited for the Coachella music festival in d US. Burna boy observed that his name was spelled in small letters and he raised objection to it noting he is an "African Giant". To my greatest amazement, many nigerians derided him and said he was being arrogant & that his attitude will get him nowhere. Many asked, what made him think he was a giant when he was just a local champion. I felt obligated join in d conversation & noted that if burna chose to call himself "African Giant", I don't see why Nigerians are insulting him for it.

Later that year, he released an album "African Giant", a hit by no mean standards. He went on to win d Grammys after nigerians said his pride will get him nowhere. He has won d Grammys. D same nigerians who never liked him and said he will amount to nothing, are now claiming they are responsible for his success.
