Two different types of gas, definitely not sold by the same vendor. The cylinder seems to be a connection though....most probably substandard

From the look of the cannister, it seems they were evacuating the refrigerant from the discharge side or trying to pump refrigerant through the discharge line.


I do a lot of air conditioning and refrigeration works, including their electronics and controls, but mostly set up for data centers, shopping complexes, and produce storages. In Nigeria, Africa, and some other places. Make little minds no go think say na boasting. I am speaking from an experience point of view. We also train people mostly in other African nations and some island nations. We are still learning and accredited, but experience have given us the right to analyze.



When you charge or evacuate these machines, you have to respect safety and be a little patient. If evacuating (removing the refrigerant from the system), your tank should not be more than 80% of the total volume to allow for refrigerant gas expansion. There are many more assessment that need to be done to see what happened; like we're they trying to solder (weld) a line while it had gas? Or did electricity arcing (sparking) play a role; or was it a bad habit of over filling the tank.


I pray for the affected and their families. I also thank God that Baba was not around this unfortunate event.
