It is normal for the fleshly part of a human being to want to see vengeance on his/her enemies....death being probably the highest punishment. If one looks from a pure fleshly viewpoint, it probably would bring satisfaction. Especially, if the person has been proven to be a wicked person by words and actions. HOWEVER, those of us who proclaim Christ are told in His Word that IF we rejoice in a wicked peson's calamity (be it any form) then God will not know you...and will He release His anger on the wicked (Proverbs 24:17 (KJV). He will not claim you as His own. There are many more scriptures as well. I tell you, it is tough sometimes. This is why it is so imperative to be in a prayerful mind-set practically all of the time. The spirit of Christ has to dwell in His children. There is no other way that it can be done. It is against our fleshly nature to look at a wicked person receiving a "just consequence" as a saddening thing. Most people, including Christians, would rejoice. But Christ has told us the way as His followers...which is opposite the world...very narrow. |

Eviana:100% accurate. This is the pure truth. Leave them to God and let God finish the job on your behalf. But it doesnt stop one from waging wars against principalities. When the results start showing, just lay low and don't rejoice over the result. Praise God and move on. Let God finish the job. This is a principle. You rejoice, God will step back. |

raphretle:Yes! If a lion is prowling near your house would you be happy? No But when it is dead you shout for joy. So is the wicked? Wickedness is Anti-God and And Anti- Good. Therefore, when Wickedness goes away, The Lovers of Goodness and Peace and Righteousness can dwell in happily in joy and Goodness can fill the earth again. So YES, YES, AND YES AGAIN! IT IS GOOD FOR THE WICKED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE RIGHTEOUS! |

The question is dicey but since it's about a Christian as in one person not Christians then i'll say it's wrong! The reason is there are two kinds of wicked people: A person who hates you in person is your own enemy that Jesus asked you to pray for {Matthew 5:43-48} perhaps that he/she may have a change of heart! 1Peter 2:12 A person who hates God's people in general. {1Samuel 17:4-10, Exodus 5:2} Note that this time the enemy doesn't have any person in mind but an organized people due to their motive or belief. Act 4:18 So while a Christian should not rejoice that his personal enemy dies the destruction of an enemy of pure worship is victory for God and His people! Exodus 15:1 |

raphretle:May God bless you.... I also meant to add that it actually is a solemn thing for a wicked person to not only die physically, but be permanently separated from a Savior who demonstrated the ultimate act of dying (which only HE could do--yet didn't have to do) so that we, sinners, could be reconciled to Him. That actually is cause for sadness rather than rejoicing. |
