Well Ogs has been coaching for years before making the step to United. He coached Cardiff and won rhe league with Molde. Lampard coached Derby county and did pretty good. Pirlo was under 23 manager at Juve. Arteta worked 3 years under Pep which itself is like learning from the boss.

You have to realize life has ups and downs. Top coaches fail and small ones succeed too. It's the beauty of the game. It's still early days for these guys and they might become the next best thing in the future. You can't just write them off.

BTW, what the hell is Solkjear doing on that list? This is rhe most stable United have been since Fergie left. His man management is top notch as you cannot win 28pts from losing positions and go an entire season unbeaten away from home if you are not good. Respect rhe man please.

Most of the successful ones were ex players too. Guardiolla, Antonio Conte, Diego Simone, Mauricio Pochettino..... Even Tuchel , Klop and Mourinho did play to a certain level.

So, how then do you replace the tested coaches who are retiring if the clubs continue to use only tested hands?

Guardiola, Konte, Pochettino and a host of others were all young coaches who were give a chance and they took it and excelled.

The bolded. How do you test them if not by appointing them? It is the testing process you get to know whether it's a hit or miss. The bolded is the reason companies look for 'experience' who in reality are archaic and have nothing to offer, while they ignore fresh blood with innovative ideas ready to work.

Personally, I think OGS, Pirlo and maybe even GATUSSO are decent. Why?
OGS is up against Guardiola and Klopp, and he's holding his own. I don't have the stats, but I believe he has better head to head record against those 2 men. With time, he'll perfect his other shortcomings.

Pirlo won the Coppa Italia and is in the champions league. Good enough for his very first season ever especially with the super competitiveness of Serie A this season.

Now, which 'tested and trusted' coach would you like to replace them? Sarri, Mourinho, Allegri?

Even the successful coaches started as rookies. Let me give you 3 examples of rookies appointed that are a hit.

Guardiola, he was in charge of B team when he was appointed by Barcelona. See as he blow.

Tito Vilanova - Spent one season in barca and he won the league. He was a revelation. Made mourinho suffered. He didn't continue due to health issues
