Non of the featured specifications classify the JF-17 Block II as a Gen 4.5 Fighter Jet. There is much more to the Block III than just an AESA like IRST (which would be visible on the airframe if installed), Helmet mounted Display, EWAR suite.. and many more features. We certainly see the basic Block II here, which represents a Gen 4 combat aircraft - while the Block III is still under testing and development for the PAF.

I'm sorry the NAF JF-17 has those features you mentioned. You can find the info right here.

It's not my opinion bro, it's a stated fact, and well recognized by multiple international organizations including CATIC & PAC, the manufacturers of the JF-17.

Again, his comment is not enough for CATIC or PAC to disapprove his claim because Nigeria is not a major user, 2 the pilot was speaking to a domestic audience.

If Nigeria had purchased 16 aircrafts and the pilot made that claim, it would have been refuted.

I'm sorry but I consider your position here highly subjective and even laughable. I mean you are saying numbers purchased, domestic audience and the pilots comments are basically irrelevant to warrant rebuttal from manufacturers. I don't believe any manufacturer would risk their credibility even if Nigeria bought one example. The JF-17 is been marketed by CAC/PAC internationally. And let's make belief and assume you are right what about competitors for lightweight fighter sales, I bet you they'd cry high heavens. Besides not only the pilot but the professionalism and the competence of the entire NAF and PAC/CAC would be called into question. And that cannot happen. I hope you know what you are doing here along with those who buy into your tirade without any empirical evidence to the contrary, you are disproving the credibility of an army of professional aviators and engineers.

Well thank God its nairaland. No surprises.

We may both agree there's a place for rebuttal as I had challenged earlier. If none is forthcoming by any reputable organization you'd not only buy isiewu but tender apology.

Nigerias Jf17 is a 9th generation fighter......
My source told me that the Pakistanis added a quantum teleportation device to the very modern version of fly by wire that they gave us.
He said we were warned not to mention it since its a top secret.

I can not see anything that indicates a IRST is integrated on the air frame. ??

Did you now discover other than IRST other features you mentioned does exist on the NAF JF-17. About IRST it is inferior to BVRAAM moreso backed up with IFF capability.

For more info you can hear the fighter pilot himself reel out capabilities of the NAF JF-17. Info now on public fora all over the internet which you can also source to corroborate.

https://twitter.com/DefenseNigeria/status/1395585576737386496?s=19

I must add Nigeria paid quite a decent amount for its 3 JF-17 THUNDERS as it also did for its A-29 Super Tucanos soon to be delivered in July.
Some of the extra costs go for extended capabilities we direly need in the war up north.

We have a targeting pod ASELPOD that does amongst other things what IRST does. That's 4.5 Gen. The only thing lacking is RCS reducing airframe but Rafale dies not also have stealthy airframe but is Gen 4.5++

I was going to say something about the ASELPOD but refrained from doing so like I do mostly so that they take the bait. People who barely know think they know something so wait for them to copy and paste online content before exposing they are no professionals.

You can imagine someone here full of himself all the time and his ilk liking ignorance all over telling us SA has something we know isn't true.

About the French Rafale the manufacturer makes us believe it is built with materials that gives it near stealth capabilities. It remains to be seen in combat where projections on paper can quickly go awry against a very capable foe.

Talking about the IRST i clearly said that the IRST is not integrated on the air frame. cool We fly the Block II version of the JF17, a budget fighter jet for 25m per air-frame. This is anything but a descent amount of money in todays world where even a MIg35 starts at 50m but this is exactly what we need now. We see certainly not a Gen 4.5 aircraft here and note that even the PAF doesnt fly the Block III. Even the Block III is not remotely comparable to the Rafale - this platform is complete different league. Dream on dreamer.

Nigeria bought 3 JF-17 for $180m and it's a deal no middle man. Requirement was actually different from regular JF-17 block 2.

Algeria Air Force C 130J 640New transport aircraft for Algerian Air Force

There were already rumours that the al-Quwwat al-Jawwiya al-Jaza'iriya (Force Aérienne Algérienne, Algerian Air Force) would receive the new Lockheed C-130J Super Hercules.

Although we have not seen a photo yet, the first C-130J with serial 7T-WJA (construction number unknown) was seen at Greenville/Donaldson Center (SC) on 23 May 2021.

It is reported that the Algerian Air Force has ordered four C-130Js and that Algerian pilots and maintenance crews are already trained in the US. Currently, the air force operates the C-130H and C-130H-30 Hercules with the 2ème Escadre de Transport Tactique et Logistique at Boufarik air base.

According to the Scramble Magazine database, the air force has eight C-130H and six C-130H-30 transporters operational.

Algeria Air Force Il 76MD 90 480But the C-130J is not the only new transport aircraft. Also four Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A transporters are reported as ordered. No details are known yet on the delivery schedules of both aircraft.

Spoken like an Indian General. Please tell us another Alice in wonderland story we are used to this one. The facts are public especially given credence to by a qualified and professional NAF fighter pilot so please you have to forgive me your baseless opinion is of no relevance and of no consequence not now not in the future.

Nigeria spent north of 200 million dollars for the comprehensive package of just 3 JF-17s for the NAF. That is decent amount of money.

I don't know where you come from but anywhere in the world that's decent money even for the mighty USAF that is now retiring expensive to maintain aircraft including contemplating to retire some odd numbers of old F-35s. Their F-16s a comparable aircraft to our JF-17s are projected to operate into the 2030s. That tells you something.

In today's world Air Forces and generally militaries are innovative in cost cutting measures, intricacies that go into weapons purchase. No one wants to have an unnecessary burden of a shiny symbol glorified in pictures that is under-utilized.

Not to worry we are good plus anything that tickles your fantasy you are led to believe.

A country that knows what it needs. Not these ones that are defending the purchase of three substandard jets from a sub standard 3rd world country that took almost 9 years.

But for you or anybody to accept such bare faced stealing of our national treasuries in exchange for these 3 unfortunate aircraft, at a time when the war against terror has entered its most critical stage; Ever wondered why our senators and leaders drive the most sophisticated vehicles, use the most sophisticated phones and appliances but when it comes to our military, technology does not matter. Nigeria's brand new 4.5 generation JF-17 THUNDER multi-role fighter Jet. It has extended SOW, first-look-first-kill capability and capability to launch a nuclear armed missile warhead.

Today the NAF is sub-saharan Africa's most advanced, capable, active and experienced Air Force both in training, combat and platforms.

Lol

Arguably I think would apply for Africa in this context of most advanced etcetera factoring in both Egypt and Algeria but definitely the most advanced and equipped in sub-saharan Africa and that includes South Africa and Ethiopia.

We hear Egypt's Rafales have been stripped by France of its software capable of delivering nuclear weapons. Algeria has some potential.
