This newspaper for reasons best known to them, refused to mention his tribe.
Had he succeeded, the villagers would have burnt them all the mosque and hausa residence in that area.
His corpse has been evacuated by the police few hours ago.

This is what you get when a seemingly peaceful state moves to a demonic political party. Ebonyi people your governor should be held responsible. There is Labour party and others why APC? He didn't learn from Benue and IMO .

Another side of the story[b][/b]

A Mobile Police Officer on special deployment to Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Mr Idi Aminu has lost his life in an accidental hand grenade explosion.
The incident which occurred opposite Amizi Amangbala Primary School in Afikpo North threw the area into panic as passers by scampered for safety.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi state, Mrs Loveth Oda who confirmed the development explained that the MOPOL who was an Inspector mistakenly hit the lead of his grenade which was hanging on his waist with his elbow resulting in the deadly explosion.

She noted that the police officer was an operative of MOPOL 32 and not a suicide bomber as being circulated in the social media.

The PPRO said his remains had been evacuated to a mortuary.

She also cleared the air on alleged accidental discharge by a police officer at Government House Abakaliki pointing out that though a bullet accidentally fired from an AK 47 rifle when police officers posted to the gate were cleaning their firearms, it never hurt or killed any of them.

There could be more to it..
Here is the thing.

If we follow IPOB's ideology, which is Igbo Independence and creation of the Igbo ethno state (Biafra). And considering most Southerners are materialistic and worldly, hence are not prone to suicide.

Suicide bombing is more an act of desperation, when hope is lost in a fight. Which even Biafra soldiers during the civil war didn't resort to.

It wouldn't make sense why any of them would want to suicide bomb a primary school with their own children.

This follows more of the signature of BokoHaram/ISWAP.
And there is something fishy about this whole unknown gunmen attacking police, which isn't even exclusive to the Southeast as there are reports of such from Sokoto as well.
It reminds me of the early days of BH.
