The common people should be the ones to review the 1999 constitution.

The politicians will review it to favour themselves.

Nigerians should be wise for once.

The north is the problem of this country followed by the fake Muslims down south

No names mentioned

These people will try to hijack this process and water it down and no significant change will happen. The political class really think the masses are playing.... until the conference is run by non state actors, we will always hit a brick wall.... All I see here is the establishment creating a smokescreen to make restructuring agitators feel something is about to happen when really it’s all motion no movement.

If we are to succeed in having a great constitutional amendment aimed at restructuring the country, then these elected individuals should please take a bow and leave this process to seasoned bureaucrats, retired senior civil servants, retired judges, retired parliamentarians and former political office holder who are now veterans, captains of industries, pressure groups, representatives of organized labor, ethnic nationalities, ethnic minority groups to meet without being teleguided by the government - to effectively discuss the future of Nigeria - no serving governor, senator, representative, or member of the president’s cabinet should participate because a man who feeds from the devil’s pot can not place blame or give judgement against the devil.... In my own opinion, 95% of our elected politicians at the state and national level are compromised already....

If they want to participate, that’s within their right as a Nigerian to do so but they must first resign from their elected or appointed position so they can freely discuss the big deal of Nigeria’s future.... It’s all about the principle of separation of powers- you can’t be here and there without owing allegiance to here or there...

For the elected or appointed individuals- I strongly believe, none of them want a shift or change from the status quo because they want their bread to be continually buttered by the tears and misery of the masses as long as oil money meets their greedy and selfish needs!

I support your suggestions on the category of people that should be represented.

Some of the serving politicians are there for their own selfish interest.

With all theses Laudable objectives, seen and unseen, in driving to the promise land through patch - patch amendments style instead of overhauling the constitution with a new solid foundation to guarantee a sustainable indivisible ,progressive new state. Ab - nito a killer punch and a clause has been inserted to guarantee an exercise in futility ( new state creation). This singular item from my personal narrow tunnel vision and a pragmatic followers of Nigerian state Hellenic structure can confidently predicts this exercise has been set up to fail from the start.

Only abaribe will speak the truth there, the rest are Fulani purpets. We need sanity in this country therefore that military document called 1999 constitution must be trashed away. We must go back to the true dreams of our founding fathers which is true federalism.
Nigeria is dead, children less than 15 now carry guns as bandits. Enough is enough!

You spoke my mind der bro, but few people in dis country really think about those representing them. Many prefer to submit to the opinion of the crowd in matters of politics, and save their brains for more important things like, Big Brother. grin

What the heck the charade is all about? Why can't the representatives of the people say the truth. The both houses of parliament are just deceiving the people with this show of shame. A Constitution that start with a lie, what can you review about a fraudulent document, imposed on Nigerians by the fulani army. The southern reps in both houses should bury their heads in shame. The Constitution should be binned. In fact END NIGERIA NOW!!! Oodua nation is here to stay.
