I love Emerson like anything else. Always admired the way he bombs up and down the right flank for Betis. One of the best performers for Betis this season. One of the best right back in Spain for the season. Our perfect replacement for Dani Alves, if he could maintain his level though. We all saw how Junior Firpo came from Betis, flamboyant and confident, yet he had flattered to deceive ever since, flopping big time. Lost all that remained of his confidence and flamboyancy. Dont really know what went wrong with that dude.

Besides, I have never been convinced by Sergino Dest. Adds nothing to the team. Not in attacking nor in defending. Mbappe ate him for supper in that fateful UCL round of 16 first leg. To be fair to him, he wasn't the only one that suffered against the pacey Parisan.

Once Emerson comes, both of them should compete for that position. Both of them young. I hear that Emerson is joining in July 1st. Quite early too. Everyone gets a fair amount of time to impress the coach. I will relish the battle on that right back.

Never again should we see Sergi Roberto in that position. Ever again!
