Why Do We Seem To Have More Of Chelsea Fans In Nigeria? by Emperormartin(op): 3:24pm On May 29, 2021
As a football fan over the years I've come to realized that Chelsea fans are more in number here in Nigeria than any other football club fans.
Whenever I'm in viewing or any other gathering I see them in their numbers all enthusiastically enmeshed in everything concerning their darling club Chelsea!!!

Mind you I'm not saying that other clubs doesn't have dedicated fans but Chelsea fans tripled their numbers by far...

Their fan base cut across the northern part of this country, the south, the elderly, middle-aged, teenagers even women.

And that brings me to my question, why are people so interested in this Chelsea than any other club?

P.S: I'm not a Chelsea fan. And secondly I'm not in any way jealous of Chelsea's achievement?

It surprises me too but it needs an explanation; even small children that didn't watch Mikel obi play for Chelsea are openly declaring themselves Chelsea fans...

Do you know Mikel Obi and Victor Moses?
They are the reasons why we support Chelsea.
Arsenal had more fans when Kanu Nwankwo was with them but over the years when they started regressing and after the exit of the Nigerian Star so many of them began trooping to our beloved Chelsea.
And guess what?, They find joy with us.
It's a 0 - 2 win today in Porto and Europe will the lit Deep Blue.

There is a dry gin called Chelsea.

Many people in Nigeria are used to the word (Cheysee) so it is easy to identify with their brand of ogogoro.

I observed that most rich men are fans of Arsenal.

While most poor men are fans of Chelsea

Has anyone observed this too?

I think its because of key african players in them since way back of Geremy, essien, drogba, mikel n even v.moses..
Chelsea usually deliver back then with black players playing key roles..
