Honestly, the medical doctors I see around me are well to do..like they have high financial buoyancy.

Not everyone can become a doctor, as not everyone can learn to code

Plus the idea/nature of the jobs is totally different, doctor's main intention is to save life making money is just a secondary to the occupation

Yeah 1 million a month is just 2000 dollars which you can get via remote jobs now. Medicine is good but not to practice in Nigeria. The best thing a doctor can Do Is to write foreign exams and japa after studies. My mom is a doctor presently doing her residency and she earns just 200k. I with less than a year of programming experience earn more than two times her monthly salary. If my mom was a doctor in the USA of course only very few programmers can match what she earns. The best thing doctors can do now is to japa but to even japa you need money and government has stopped paying salaries for housemanship.

how would you say MBBS is getting useless
it only people that miss MBBS in jamb that would say that

though in terms of salary and money, Nigeria isn't appreciating at all. The doctor here receiving 300k per month will receive $2500 per month easily there
and mind you qualified medical doctors don't look for job rather jobs look for them whether abroad or here in Nigeria

MBBS can never be useless. People who try to talk down on MBBS and make it seem like it's not successful enough or useful enough are either jealous and envious or they are just ignorant. Even the programming people keep hyping, what fraction of programmers are earning more than doctors or even one million per month?

Why saying MBBS is becoming useless? Medicine will continue to strive as long as human beings dey alive. It's here , the profession is not getting paid well like technology.

In fact(and I am using real statistics here and not just dreaming up numbers) only less than 1% of **university students** can become sufficiently skilled in programming to become market functional and they are highly sought, not only in Nigeria but also internationally. MBBS on the other hand is quite a bit more lenient to entrants, where it's really about the stamina to go through course work that matters. I do free-lance work internationally and all of my work involves programming, in addition to more technical stuff, and I see about $4000 every month(2million Naira). I'm a bit surprised to learn that MDs earn 300K though. I would have thought at least 1 million a month.

Its not even easy for a consultant to see one million a month and it takes blood and tears to be a consultant in Nigeria.

In Nigeria yes but in the US or Europe its much better than programming.

At the end of the day, we have far more doctors doing well than the so called programmers, as far Nigeria is concerned.

Gbam but you need to be certified to get a Salesforce developer job since it's very delicate. Start with platform developer one. You can find the trails on trailhead.

MBBS is still the best course

Anybody discouraging you from studying medicine hates you.

Study your medicine, most doctors are better off than programmers in Nigeria and abroad.

Not every programmer earn well and also many hardly get jobs on upwork except they are exceptionally good.

Are you normal at all?
Although most people in Naija aren't normal.
An abnormal country can't yield normal people.
So, it's normal for a Nigerian residing in Naija to come up with such an analogy for a topic.

Nigeria needs more of NATIVE doctors and Traditional Healers than the professional, well-read Medical Doctors.
How can someone residing in a country losing its professionals to responsible countries everyday term "MBBS totally useless"?

What I understand is that, not every programmer can boast of such amount you are making, you are one lucky person, some makes more than you, some less, but if a medical doctor is lucky he can earn what you earned in a year within a short period. Its not easy but with seriousness anybody can be one. I used to be a mechanic before I became a programmer. The only barrier is getting a laptop which is a huge problem for a lot of people but once you have that and put in the time, you will succeed.

when you get to practical on surgery, then you will know that MBBS is not a tea party or useless

Many earn even way less than the quoted amount (300k) especially those working in private hospitals. I feel you've being quite lucky as only a few programmers earn up to the designated amount. For every programmer earning well, there are equally ten others earning ridiculously low, which I believe you know well enough. Even the lucky private hospital owners in the metropolis could make ten times what you earn in profit; so it all boils down to luck and expertise.
