Which youths wants to farm?

Those kind herdsmen who only eat leftovers.
I bet they also gave you milk as gift too. The love affair must be so strong!

Any serious farmer knows that no time is good for cows to be in a farm.
If you are incapable of seeing the problem of unsolicited farm invasion regardless of what the cattle do there,
then you are even worse than Buhari their patron.

Nah, your response has exposed your slow wit.
I am a youth and I want to go into farming. I know of several other youths interested in it.

In your small mind, you think the farming I'm talking about is the old-time cutlass and hoe farming? Think, boy, the world is beyond that now.

And yes, Fulani herdsmen never ate our crops in times past and we never even had course to keep watch over our farm. We work on the farm during the day and go home to come back next morning.

After harvesting, however, you see cows all over the place.

I'm the one involved and I should know better than you about my experience.

Most Nigerians are goofy as hell. Cocoa money used develop Lagos instead of Ibadan. The characters from certain section of Nigeria are inherently loudmouthed and funny story tellers. The capital of Oduduwa, Omo parapa, Ibadan remained a backwater till date yet the glorified "No man's land" is developed with cocoa. Days are gone when people have time to listen to the rooster and bull story about wrestling match cum Kiriji war which had been turned into world war III by the colorful fabulists.
Jagunlabiodua:
Cocoa was used to build Lagos, Cocoa and industrial port revenues were used, Lagos is over 200yrs old, it’s owned by Yorubas, but if you want Lagos, you can come and claim it with the Nigeria military, make sure you enlist and come with them. Your grave inside the Atlantic is already waiting and calling for you.
All Yorubas see the Ooni of Ife as the foremost Yoruba King

Don’t let me School you on Lagos or Awori History

The Oba of Lagos is an Ijesha Man by lineage

The Ijesha link to Lagos dates back to about 1200 AD when Oduduwa sent his Grandson who became the first king of the Ijesha People to Lagos to fetch Sea Water as Part of a Cure for his failing eyesight

That is why the king of Ilesha is titled “ Owa Obokun” which means “he who fetches Water from the Sea”.

The Awori are 100% Yorubas and from Ife Originally

Lagos is Aworiland

Lagos is 100% Yorubaland

On the day the British Colonial Government first landed in Lagos in 1851 Oyo controlled Badagry Area Which they had taken from the king of Dahomey along with Porto Novo (Ajase) in War . The Oyos had fought Dahomey as Allies of the Eguns
Aare Oona Kakanfo oyabi had led the Oyo Army

The Abeokuta Egba Army Controlled all of Lagos Mainland Which they had won in the Ota War of 1842 in Which the Oyos of Ibadan fought as Allies of Oba Kosoko and the Awori and received such a heavy defeat at the hands of the Egbas that the Ibadan Army had to be smuggled back home.

The whole Episode almost led to the downfall of Basorun Oluyole back at Ibadan

The Ijebu Controlled Everything East of Lekki

All Oba Kosoko Controlled was the Slave market and Port of Isale Eko on Lagos Island, Even Ikoyi belonged to the Onikoyi who was an Oyo man

Again if you hear that Yorubas spent 100 years fighting themselves till 1878,

Just know that the Egba, Ijebu and Oyo Which included Ibadan were fighting for Control of the Coast of Lagos

Control of the Coast of Lagos meant Titanic Wealth. but unfortunately much of that was from the Slave trade

The Lagos territory Controlled by the Egbas , Oyo and Oba Kosoko belonged to the Awori People who were the most Peaceful and accommodating of all Yoruba Clans

Eko is Yoruba short for Ereko which means field and for Confirmation Ereko Market where the Egbas and Ijebu traded is still on Lagos Island today

Also Eko Ende in Osun State was one of the Locations of the Jalumi War of 1878

The Awori have inhabited Lagos since the 13th Century when they migrated from Ile Ife led by Olofin Ogunfuminire who was a great grandson of Oduduwa and a nephew of Oranmiyan who headed to Benin around the same period

The Land on Which Isale Eko of the Oba of Lagos is located belongs to the Awori Yoruba Aromire family till today

Aromire was one of the Sons of Olofin Ogunfuminire

The Otun Ekiti People migrated from Lagos in the 15 th Century and share the same ancestry with the Awori of Lagos

The bolded is quite mistaken.

(1) The Ijesha link to the Lagos [island] monarchy has nothing to do with the Owa-Obokun and Oduduwa episode from circa the 1000s.

(2) The Lagos [island] monarchy began with an Awori noble (of Ife royal descent) from Isheri-Olofin. He is Ashipa.

(3) His son, Ado, born to him by his Benin queen took over as the official first King of the island.

(4) The patrilineal ascent to the Lagos [island] throne continued from Ashipa, to Ado, to Gabaro, to Akishemoyin, and to Kekere.

(5) The patrilineal ascent to the Lagos [island] throne was interrupted by the next incoming king of Lagos [island] whose name is Kutere.

(6) Ologun Kutere, who reigned from the late 1700s, is the grandson of Ado. Ado’s daughter gave birth to Kutere.

(7) However, Kutere’s dad is an Ijesha man. This Ijesha man married Ado’s daughter by virtue of the fact that he is close to Akishemoyin. He is the medicine man to Akishemoyin.

(8 ) As such, Kutere ascended the Lagos [island] throne through his mother's side. And the kings of Lagos [island] till date trace their royal ancestry to Ado and then to Ashipa; through Kutere.

(9) In sum, the Ijesha connection to the Lagos [island] monarchy has nothing to do with the Owa-Obokun and Oduduwa episode from circa the 1000s.

Ologun Kutere was the first connection to the Lagos [island] monarchy. He flourished in the 1700s/1800s.

Eko is Yoruba short for Ereko which means field and for Confirmation Ereko Market where the Egbas and Ijebu traded is still on Lagos Island today
Yes, Eko is the “contraction” of Ereko. However, Ereko (short form: Eko) does NOT simply mean “field”.

I thought I should correct that.

Cheers!

Mind you dethroned by the people, or The State High Court, Then affirmed by the Supreme Court?
please when you come to anonymous online fora.. Don't call people you don't know kids, Supreme Court do not dethrone nor a high court, nor the people it's the state government or in the case of alafin the regional government that does that, go and read and stop arguing online.

TAO11.

Kiti gbe O !

All you have said is Correct

But the Cyber Bandits need to know that Yoruba Association with Lagos is almost 1000 years old , they need to know that Lagos Sea Water was used to Wash Oduduwa the Father of the Yorubas face .

What I was saying is that Ijesha People have been going to Lagos since 1200 AD when the first Ijesha King went to Lagos to fetch Sea Water to Cure Oduduwa’s blindness and that was how the Oba of Ijesha got the title Owa Obokun

Oba of Lagos ancestor Alagba who was an Ijesha man was resident in Lagos before marrying Princess Erebus Kuti
Of Course it was. Centuries afterwards

Neither am I disputing the fact that the first Oba of Lagos was an Awori Isheri Man

I had to mention this because some folks whose ancestors landed in Lagos less than 60 years ago were arguing that Yorubas were recent migrants into Lagos and I needed to let them understand that Yorubas have been associated with Lagos Since the days of Oduduwa

Below is an example of the comments one has had to be dealing with after showing him the interview the Portuguese embassy gave in 2019 confirming that the Portuguese Sailors met Awori in Lagos in 1472
I had to show him that Yoruba association with Lagos is a very Ancient one and that they didn’t just get to Lagos last Century

The “no man’s land” label is in fact rooted in inferiority complex.

Those who use the label are not merely inferior, they also unknowingly affirm & admit their own inferiority whenever they make that statement.

Your questions, unfortunately, fail to answer the question you thought they would answer. Lol.

I’d advice that you re-read my comment closely and slowly this time and not rush to reply again. You will learn a thing or two. I promise.

Again, the question directed at you is (as highlighted) below: [Also, correct your misunderstanding of what Lagos actually is — as highlighted. Thanks].

(1) First of all, the area actually known as Lagos (i.e. Èkó) is one island.

It (i.e. Lagos, i.e. Èkó) corresponds almost perfectly to the area known today as Lagos island.

As such, you are mistaken when you said “Lagos is not one, it is combination of islands the make up Lagos State”.

It is in fact the opposite. Lagos is one (island), and with other islands and other land area make up what is known today as Lagos State.

(2) In very unambiguous terms, would you specify and clarify what you mean by the phrase “fort of the Oba of Benin.”??

Also, please cite the reliable historical source from where you got such misleading information. /s smiley

Cheers!
