I came across a post recently on this forum where someone mentioned that today would be his last day at his place of work.

This is not the first time one would be reading cases like this.

At job interviews, you hear this question too, "why would you want to leave your current job?"

But let's come to reality.

Why would people want to leave there jobs especially when there is no plan B?

Let's hear your opinion on this topic.

There are several reasons as to why.

Each person to his own

But, generally people eave, if there wasn't any noticeable progress after a stipulated period.

People also leave to face other challenges, if they eventually get bored at work.

There are other reasons as well.

Money

Time

Benefits

Because I want to become the president of UAR.

This I have seen.

1. No opportunities for growth and career development (do your research about the new company and be sure they offer these)
2. It’s time to move on. If you feel like you’ve achieved what you came to the organization for, then it’s time to move on to other exciting career opportunities.

Be Truthful in a nice way. For instance, if pay was low, tell the interviewer the pay was no longer commensurate with your experience and what you can offer and you not successfully negotiate a raise.

insufficient onboarding/support system

recently joined a new team with an existing project and codebase, it's kinda tough navigating through the codebase and tangible supports ain't forthcoming

The major reason why people jump from one job to another is money. Gone are those days when people really follow passion. People are always in search for a better opportunity.

Nobody would want to leave his/her present job if he/she is well paid. Even though he really does not like the job.

SEARCHING...

One needs to leave a job for a work. Job is what you do for others, earning a living. Work is what you do for yourself, earning a living. You can multiply your pay when you work for yourself and also be your own boss. Learning and mastering a skill-set is the starting point to life of financial freedom. Skills are in levels. Just go for the ones you could accept it's risk and you have interest in. If you don't like the job you have and life is hard at present, don't be in a hurry, just plan for your exit. In 2016! I quit my job without plan b to focus on a skill-set. Today, am super glad I took the the decision. Only depressing jobs are around now, except you work for yourself.

I work with too much illiterate n I don't want dier mentality to affect me... d pay is also too poor for me as a graduate. ( 100k-115k)... I work from Monday to Sunday... No time for myself at all

If it is in an interview, you can say that you want to leave your current job because you want to a more challenging environment.

But we all know that money is the real motivation
