Twitter is barn in Nigeria BMC are still using it

Amazon, Twitter, Global Vaccine Alliance, Volkswagen, Toyota, Nissan, shunned Nigeria. They took their investments to Ghana & South Africa

Banning Twitter in Nigeria also sent a strong message to Silicon Valley, Nigeria is a hostile environment. “Ease Of Doing Business” defeated

Fooling animals

It is not only silicon valley, it is silicon mountain.

So you mean Nigerians can not create their own alternatives without involving silicon valley.

100% with you.
U cant slap your landlord and expect continue stay. Twitter has their rules fine so is Nigeria (sorry that we collectively select(not elect o) Buhari as our president but that's the reality - e dey pain me badly)
seunmsg:
It is a serious aberration. Sadly, people are only looking at it from the prism of their hatred for Buhari. Censoring the speech of an elected president in another country should never be allowed.

Twitter censored Trump's tweets whilst he was President....the most powerful political office in the world. There was no talk of the US government banning Twitter as a result.

The Nigerian government hasn't even investigated or detained Miyetti Allah members for incendiary statements, it's a social media platform they are tackling.

It looks like only self-proclaimed activists are criticizing the Nigerian government for suspending Twitter, cos from the tweets I have been reading online, especially those of Non-Nigerians, people are not happy with Twitter at all.

Bruno Maçães, for example...

Ask yourself, did the fool experience end SARS,does he know the atrocious acts of this government?

If Buhari cannot adhere to Twitter rules, then he should not tweet.

See another myopic one here. So, Michelin, Solgas, Dunlop, UAC, PZ, Wilbros, Amazon, Nigerite etc are all USA companies or licencees too? Was it USA that said they should relocate to Ghana and dump Nigeria? Shamefully, these great companies still send their products to Nigeria to sell. You'd even be worse than buhari if you had the opportunity of being on the corridor of power. Now I concur on the lazy youths he called your likes.

You no nothing..

If the elected president of a country signs up to use a PRIVATE platform, he is bound by the terms and conditions therein…
Buhari is no bigger an elected president than Trump, and yet when Trump was sanctioned, the US Government did not ban Twitter!

Many Nigerians sink to the LOWEST denominators…
And frankly DESERVE the backward leadership they have.

If a single man (jack) can unilaterally determine what's permissible or not with his brazen double standard and hypocrisy then a government of over 200M people (voted into power by over 15M voters) also possess the right to kick their ass off.

No, he doesn’t….
He’s NOT an absolute monarch or a sovereign.

National Interest is DISTINCT from governmental or personal interest…
That’s why the Constitution has checks-and-balances, to counter dictatorial powers.

You think decisions taken at Twitter is solely by Jack?

When Twitter deleted Trump's tweet, the US govt suspends Twitter, right?

The govt should take the issue up with Twitter and not bring Nigerians into it.
This is an abuse of power
The bulk stop at his table. The US government can determine what's good for them or not and we all saw how Jack rose to defend the US against Capitol Hill invaders whereas he was a major supporter of violent protest in Nigeria and Hong Kong.
Jack is simply a business man who will always side with the online mob majority irrespective of the consequential threat to the security and Sovereignty of any nation (except US). It's all about traffic. Creating a symbol for Endsars, Echoke, Davido@10, LGBT etc are all business strategies. It's the responsibility of nations to
draw the line or get burnt.

Less than 2m (less than 1% of Nigeria's population) "Vocal" Nigeria Twitter users (including duplicated Accounts) does not depict the whole 200M Nigerians, so please don't overestimate TwitterNG. They're a vocal negligible minority.
