Many Nigerians are supporting Twitter. Come what may, let us stand with our President in this. A social media company wants to gag our President. Do you know the implications of that? It makes us a joke as a people! And when they see our passport, they'd see us as cowards. If Twitter gags a President (like they did to Trump), who gags Twitter? Many may not know, companies might be scared of Nigeria because of this brash decision, but the President has made a strong point to Twitter that they can be regulated which would earn us some measure of respect. What halted xenophobia in South Africa? When Nigeria almost caused crippled MTN. 2 Likes 1 Share |

The man said nothing but the truth.. China and other countries have already banned Twitter,I believe more countries will soon do the same thing.Because Twitter is an avenue for spreading fake news which can lead to civil war. 1 Like

Belial06: And you know government paid the "hungry Portuguese Yoruba commenter to tweet in support of a stupid decision" how? Were you there when the transaction took place? You see, there is something called defamation which is what you just did, because you cannot prove what you just wrote, but you wrote it anyway. It is because of people like you that I support social media regulation, you lack social media ethics and etiquette. Nigeria President doesn't look stupid to the whole world. I will tell you why. Jack Dorsey supported the #EndSARS protest openly. That was not a wise thing to do. The narrative later changed from #EndSARS to regime change. Twitter was the vehicle used to promote it. Remember that the same Twitter was used to strategize, mobilize and propagate the protests that ended the administration of Omar Al Bashir in Sudan. Do it became a national security threat. Remember that the administration did not react except with the social media bill whose current status I don't know. Then Twitter edited their offices in Ghana but still want the operate in Nigeria. And the nail that hit the camels neck was attempting to gag the President. Do you understand the buildup and the power play? I don't think Buhari is a slowpoke. A slowpoke cannot appoint northern service chiefs back to back to back and populate key national positions with northerners and Nigeria is not on fire. |
