Nigerian trends have displaced the US trending topics on Twitter US. This is a potential threat on the high handed APC government. Now anything that goes on Nigeria would immidiately trend outside Nigeria. If that's the case, expect the world to know about every mistep by Buhari. Worse still, what do you think will happen when IPOB and Biafran agitators begins to trend their videos of human rights violations? It will be watched on thousands of devices in the US and draw widespread attention. Buhari has allowed anger and tribalism to be his downfall. |

Yes I expect that in as much as the ban will benefit the current government it will also have it's challenges. You mention few of them which are critical |

A party that came to power through social media is now destroying it. Like a workman destroying his tools after a single season of harvest. Burning the bridge after crossing. Wisdom is profitable to direct. |

But Pharaoh's refusal to allow the Jews to leave is complicated by God's intervention: He “hardened Pharaoh's heart.” (Exodus 7:3) The Nigerian government is heading to self-destruct. Buhari will quicken the distengration of this contraption. |

EasternActivist:I can't think of any benefits. What do you think? Nigerians are highly adaptive, they'll end up sharing a country's trending space like the US. I woke up to a barrage of Nigerian trends on US twitter. This could bind activism between the two countries. Just wait till something goes down like...... IDK, but maybe sth like police and military killings, then you'll see what I'm talking about. |

lampvoice:It may look like nothing much. But I'm sure it has a big influence. Look at this, Nigeria wakes up and sleeps before the US. An average US resident will wake up to see our morning trends, then when he/she comes back from work, our night trends would have occupied their spaces first. |

Faithful007:You're right and I always felt like it's time Nigerians wake up already and say it's enough with poor leadership and backwardness I mean we have the best brains and resources the whole world acknowledges that we ought to be in a better place in terms of development and infrastructure and this is an opportunity to make it happen Now that we have international attention |
