Facebook is the real deal for me... I don't really take Twitter serious since my account with a thousand followers was suspended without clear violation...

You just proved that you are uncivilised. People like you are the problem of this country. They don't read good books, follow international news, and can't have a civil conversation because they have nothing reasonable to offer so they start dishing insult to suit their fragile ego.

Twitter is an American system. China has theirs, India has theirs why cant Nigeria create theirs with over 200million people. Stop western patronage and be original. Spent 4 to 5 academic years in university and come out to wait for American to create for you to use. I think I am tired of this.
Then why is your president using Twitter to pass information across to Nigerians? Why not nairaland or Linda ikeji?
Originality should start from the presidency. They can't rebrand their own personal product- NTA, but wants to tell others how to run their company.

Do you know that Social media can be used to start a revolution against a government. I don't support Buhari or his government, but no reasonable government would tolerate this. Twitter has power and power must be controlled and regulated, else it'll get out of hand
Fair enough.
But note that this government rode on the back of the same social media, (Twitter especially) to power. The same social media was used by them to gain advantage. The previous administration neither banned nor persecute owners or users of social media.
Government cannot be ran based on double standards, neither should they have the right to deprive citizens benefits of social media when it's not as if we are backward illiterates. If this is allowed to pass, then I am afraid more privileges will be taken from us.

You're very funny.

Well I actually called you a fool first, but it wasn't meant to be an insult. You called Buhari a fool for banning twitter, so I said that no reasonable government would tolerate a foreign power (Twitter in this case as a western media power) imposing it's rules in it's country. So I meant that you might actually be the fool (wasn't supposed to be an insult). But you took it that way.
I would have apologised, but reading this your funny comment has actually reinforced the belief in me that you're more foolish than I imagined.

That's what I'm scared of. They might use this as an excuse to enforce more ban, just like they did with crypto and nin. It's really double standard because there is no law in the constitution that supports the twitter ban (Or maybe i dont know).

Were they campaigning? Or planning war and destruction on the country?

Me I was not a Buhari supporter but southerners only back criminal northerners like Atiku and Ganduje, Yahaya Bello or any thief that shares money for your stupid entertainers and nollywood harl ots ignoring the people we know can perform like Kwankwaso and Marwa should we have chosen the looter over this one?

By now we would be doing slavery in Middle East to pay back all the money Atiku and his family had sold us for.

Then the visibility?, without many subscribers, how would the video become searchable?

You mean using keywords words in description and title right?
YES

You do research on what people are searching.
You know Google is a search engine like Bing and DuckDuckGo? After Google, YouTube is the second most used search engine in the world. So you title a video with the exact search phrase that most people would use and are using so it shows as search results.

Research about SEO (search engine optimization) read on the blogs and you understand how you can have zero subscribers and yet people find your videos or blog.

Nairaland "hides" posts in the name of moderation. Even hides Muslim threads. Anyone's genocidal posts will be hidden, weather he likes it or not.

Twitter has played a huge role in politics. Take a look at how Turkey got saved after Erdogan's tweet to the world abt an insurrection. Germany, France and other nations have benefitted from the gateway effect, the control that you seek decries the very existence of the platform

Twitter is a private platform.
Everyone who signs up for Twitter does so, agreeing with its terms and conditions...
The terms and conditions permit Twitter to delete tweets or even shut down accounts it deems violate its rules.
If Twitter can permanently ban the US president, why do you think they do not have the power to delete the tweet of the president of a banana republic and third world country?

The easy way to prevent Twitter from being used to start a revolution against a government is for that government to be responsive to its people. The problem isn't Twitter... it is the fact that the people themselves are fed up with a government that doesn't work for its people and simply exists as a parasite, sucking the very life out of the people they are supposed to defend and protect.
