Unknown gunmen have killed at least 78 policemen and 38 soldiers in Imo as hoodlums continue to attack security agencies and facilities in the South-East, IgbereTV has learned.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria, this was revealed by Commander of 34 Artillery Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Reymond Osaghe, at a recent press briefing.

He also stated that 100 unarmed civilians had been killed in the orgy of violence.

On Sunday, the army said its troops operating in Owerri foiled an early Sunday morning attack on the police command in Imo, killing six assailants.

The army spokesperson, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Yerima, said that the troops, assisted by the police special forces, killed a top ESN operational commander, Joseph Nnachi, alias King of Dragons.

He explained that Mr Nnachi orchestrated attacks on security agencies and government establishments in the south-eastern states.

According to him, Mr Nnachi was at the centre of several heinous attacks since the death of Ikonso, killed by security forces on April 24, at Awomama Village of Orlu East local government area.

He added that four other gang members were killed along with Mr Nnachi while one was captured alive.

Just 100 or you just said that as a round figure?

By the way, Twitter ban may be lifted after June 12. That's the main plan. The Fulani administration doesn't want to be dragged in the mud again like they did during End Sars.
This is not democracy. grin

Fake news whipped up to gain public sympathy and commit more atrocities against the Igbos.

Yes, soldiers and police have died but the number mentioned is an exaggeration; and yes, we don't support violence against our forces.

However this news article is a precursor to a government preparation (Fulani cabal) to kill even more Igbos and their brothers in the east. So far , in the past few weeks 500 young men and women in Igbo land have been slaughtered.

We will not fall for it.

If the Soldiers and Policemen despite ban on illegal checkpoints had maintained this directive it wouldn't have happened.
If the Soldiers and Policemen didn't protect fleeing killer Herdsmen in Ebonyi State and environs this wouldn't have happened.

If the Soldiers and Policemen were professional unbiased and lovable to the citizens there'd wouldn't have been ESn in the first place. For now bear your hyper inflated loss, cos you security operatives have done more harm than good to our society. Rip to the dead and future Rip to the upcoming dead ones.

Police and soldiers have been killed in the East, YES. Many of us do not support it. But the number mentioned is an exaggeration.

In English, there is a saying ' give a dog a bad name to hang it' which in this context is exaggerating events to make UGM look worse than they are and then unleash disproportionate violence against Igbo people. We know the plan. It won't work.

Nigerian army is scared of the quantity of arms stockpiled in Igbo land. Starting a war is scary. Garba Shehu said it last week.

IPOB has been stockpiling arms for 5 years before they started this recent onslaught.

Each time you saw custom intercept catche of arms, 95% had gotten to the east.
