There is a heavy presence of security operatives in Lagos State as the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) is expected to arrive in the state on Thursday, The PUNCH has learnt.

Our correspondent gathered that Buhari is expected to commission some projects in the state.

A top source in the Nigeria Police Force told our correspondent on Wednesday that barring any last-minute challenge, the President will fly into Nigeria’s economic hub from the seat of power in Abuja on Thursday.

The source, who craved anonymity because he was not permitted to officially speak on the matter, told The PUNCH that Buhari’s “advanced team are already in Lagos and the President should be in the state if the weather is okay for flight”.

The source further said the presence of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, in Lagos, is part of the preparation to receive the President and tighten security before his arrival. Baba arrived in Lagos on Wednesday on a three-day work visit.

Also, presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, wrote, “President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow (Thursday), commission the 156km Lagos—Ibadan standard gauge railway line in Lagos, the first double-track standard gauge rail in West Africa, and the first Nigerian railway line to be started and completed by the same administration, since 1960.

“Construction started in March 2017, and test-running commenced in December 2020.

“The Ebute Metta Station, known as the Mobolaji Johnson Station, is the largest railway station in West Africa with a holding capacity of 6000 passengers.

“President Buhari is committed to developing a modern national railway network that will connect every part of Nigeria, and promote trade, travel, tourism, commerce and national integration. — Presidency.”

Motorists and commuters are expected to be slightly inconvenienced as the President’s visit is expected to affect traffic flow due to the closure of some roads.

The last time the President visited Lagos was on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, during the tenure of All Progressives Congress Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

During the visit, Buhari inaugurated some projects which include the Institute of Maternal and Child Health at Ayinke House; an ultra-modern 170-bed Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist hospital located within the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and Lagos Theatre at Oregun, Lagos.

The President also inaugurated the Oshodi Interchange terminal for modern transportation hub; 822 high capacity mass transit buses; and a 10-lane world standard international airport road.

It is the money he is using to build these high impact infrastructures that he did not allow them to steal.
That's the grouse these corrupt ,vicious powerful and unpatriotic people have with him
. Unfortunately , the less discerning don't know the game of these corrupt powerful people is to push PMB away for them to steal our money and start telling us stories again. They hate and resent him for choosing to use our money to develop our fatherland. Who will ever imagine that an administration can ever finish this kind of monumental project without scandal. Ordinary national Identity card under Pa Obasanjo was a monumental scandal and late PDP Chief Afolabi still managed to use death to escape and kill the case. This is the same National Identity card finished under PMB even while a pandemic hold sway!

Because President Muhammadu Buhari didn't share our treasury money with these powerful and vicious state actors , they keep causing crises upandan and sponsoring terrorist groups and use their multiple social media accounts against the country .But God is the Greatest. May God bless President Muhammadu Buhari. May God bless President Muhammadu Buhari. May God bless President Muhammadu Buhari. All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. We said on the other thread sometimes ago when some Children of hate, frustrations and perdition are saying is it Bubu's father's money he used for the train and all other numerous infrastructures going on all over the country, we asked them an honest question that is it Jonathan's and OBJ's/Atiku's fathers money they could have used for this infrastructures in their tenure?
But they rather looted EVERYTHING amongst themselves and raped our nation.
(Same way some swines are wishing it continues before almost 15million Nigerians kicked their thieving as$ out of power, then they became angry and started sponsoring violence all over Nigeria!)
Even at the period our country made huge profits in barrels of oil sold in the history of our nation, no one was able to answer our honest and simple question!

We came back few minutes later and saw our honest comment was deleted 'phiaaam'!

We weren't surprised tho, omenka and Simplyleo know what we are talking about!

Whether the evil ones like it or not, this nation will move forward and the children of hate, frustrations and perdition will not be here to witness it.

We Rise!

The poster at the screenshot below is so in our minds.... wink

God bless Nigeria.

To me it's better we have those killed by Herdsmen back
That to have this train station
It's better we have naira equals to Dollar than have this train station
It's better the extra judicial killings stop than have this train station
It's better the economy is inflating that have this train station

WHAT IS THE USE OF THIS PROJECTS WHEN THE PEOPLE THAT WILL USE IT ARE BEING MASSACRED
NOT EVEN EVERYONE FIT AFFORD AM WITH THE RATE OUR ECONOMY IS FALLING

When all this is achieved building train station
In Nigeria will be like building car park
