The traipsing of the breeze over rolling mountains, sweeping through tucked in hamlets of the countryside...

My heart levitated and became sodden—fractured memories floating in the bloody tissue.

I remember him, watching the horses feed and neigh. It was the anniversary of our first date; first dance - at the county's fair.

The duo of thunder and lightening splintered the southern sky, sending the grazing animals in a restless fit. The workers tore through their offices and tractors, flying out into the open field to contain the terrified cows and sheep.

Welcome on board this unknown journey by a very clueless and directionless drivter. I really don't know why or what I'm doing with these short pieces, but here's (*cheers*) to your likely and maybe inevitable crash cheesy. Strap on a seatbelt and I hope you don't land on a rocky path sure to bruise you.

I'm just practicing, especially with characterization (voice, style, personality, beliefs, values, yada yada yada)... nothing is organized or researched. And I hope I'm not committing a (racial) faux pas trying to write not only life in the Western countryside as a Nigerian, but about a black country girl.

Because I've not even heard of that, come to think of it!

This could be something or not.

Who am I? Where do I even begin to describe myself? Or should I just start with the place I was born in? There are tangents to my story and this . . . this is gonna be a hell of a long snapshot of it. If it makes sense in the end? Fine. If you believe it needs a better ending? Well, that's also fine and it's life. Here, three facts I think are unusual about me: I feel drawn to a life of tending to horses. I have eyes the color of a storm. I am a black country girl.

So are you trying to say the color of her eyes in at odds with her skin color? Or what prompted the question?

You remain one of my favorite nairalanders.

There are 3 nairalanders on my Yet Another Smart Teenager (YAST) list.

Namely fie.ryy/lovelyg.url, atlanti.a (formerly Col.ik), and then yourself (Magnoli.aa). (Most of them probably aren't teenagers anymore, including yourself. I haven't followed any in a long while.)

Yep that's how much I rated you after reading through the delivery of your stories in the literature section and the distinction of the collection in your picture diary and the smartness of your debates.

You are distinct and very intelligent.

I could go on another banter with you tomorrow, but that is my obvious opinion about you.

I chose to drop this here just for information sake.

Doesn't change the price of garri in the market. My opinion of you is the opposite of everything you have written. Everything imaginable. smiley Goan rest now. You have digging to do for some other time.

@ the bolded, thanks for accepting my apologies. grin

Going through your picture diary still gives me a feeling I have not put a word to. They are awe-inspiring.

Do you find the pictures with intent or you just scroll through the internet and pick any nice picture that jumps to you?

What I mean is.... what guides your selection of those pictures?

To create an image of who I am not, and what I don't have? Putting fake posts up to live out my fantasy and out my head. Something I don't have the courage to do in real life.

Everything is all illusions.
