Are Twitter a charity?

You bombaclat nitwits with stinking, sky-high inferiority complex underrate and hate yourselves so much, you can't even admit that a private American firm is in your country to make money.

They must be here on charity because you have nothing to offer and are nothing.

YOU ARE AN UTTER DISGRACE.

The G7 Summit on international businesses to pay tax isn’t too far from this, what makes you think we Nigerians aren’t balls deep enough to tax these countries too? When is Nigeria going to start economic arbitrage like the world leaders? Look into the bigger picture, let’s take advantage of this loophole as youths and encourage our programmers to develop an alternative to Twitter, probably the rise of something great in Africa at large.
build something that won't go far?
The policies of the country is making life difficult.
Many tech company had a lot of ideas in fintech but guess what? Your govt said before you can lawfully have a payment system from cbn you pay 3million dollars. They put it into law last year. Many ideas went down the grave while some decided to pay less for bigger companies to be under them.like paying interswitch.
You guys are not getting the point.
Twitter can be built but trust me, it won't succeed in Nigeria. Policies will kill it.

Twitter needs Nigeria 1,000 times more than Nigeria needs Twitter.

And if any of the platforms refuse to comply with Nigerian law, they will be kicked out of the Nigerian market.

Now run along and go sing for your white master, little slaveboy.

Trust me, the headquarters issue only pains Nigerians not our leaders. Do you think they care about the people? So far, the situation won't stop their stealing, they are not worried. Many top manufacturing companies are leaving the country daily, they don't lose sleep. Why would they care about the incoming one that most of them do not even know the value?

Well, yeah. I think you're right. Our leaders considered it a sin to care for their citizens. Too bad!

This Buhari Govt and its poverty Policies has really dealt a big blow on the mentality of some of these Nigerians!
A Govt of retarded leader and Ministers, has finally infected their millions of followers with Ignorance.

Next thing is, they want to ban VPN's, ban WhatsApp, ban Instagram, ban Air, ban water, ban themselves inclusive.
bloody Waste of time
because those old fools like lie Muhammed and buhari have obsolete brain. They grew up without technology and still don't know how to personally operate twitter. They are still in stone age so all these technologies are irrelevant to them.

Biggest middle class in Africa and biggest economy in Africa, with an annual GDP of 1.16 TRILLION dollars per annum, calculated by PPP (Purchasing Power Parity).

Twitter, by comparison, earned 1.2 billion dollars last year.

That is chicken change for top Nigerian business conglomerates, not to mention the Nigerian govt.

Twitter is shiit compared to Nigeria.
Geez you are comparing Twitter (social media) to Nigeria

If Twitter hasn't collapsed despite being shut out of China (perhaps the largest economy in the world after the U.S.A), you think 3rd world Nigeria is going to be a source of tears?

Besides, how many Nigerian conglomerates earn up to $1.2b in revenue or profit annually, talk less of it being chicken feed? They are scarcely up to 15, with at least a third of them being banks.

The world has moved away from the industrial age into the information age, and you are rejoicing that your government is hell-bent on shutting you of the new global economy? Even common agarian economy you havent gotten right.

you should compare Government earnings with Twitter's 1.2 billion USD and not Nigeria's GDP

1.2 billion USD is not chicken change for Nigerian Business. Nigerian Breweries had a profit after Tax of 18 million USD in 2020

I understand what you’re saying but this is beyond internal politics and irresponsibility, our government is probably (if they are thinking like some of us) taking advantage of the G7 summit on mega corps paying substantial taxes to countries that use their services as a tax return, that means they earn less and pay more taxes to these countries that use their product. A typical example is Twitter, Nigerians hold a significant percentage of users on Twitter platform, and going by the G7 summit IF they (the corporation) accept then they’ll be paying Nigerian Govt tax for it’s citizens using it platform, banning Twitter was a significant move to make it clear to the international bodies and mega corps that we are aware of the new development, whatever our govt decides if Twitter should be registered under CAC, definitely they’ll paying tax to our government, and indirectly as Nigerians we will be benefiting from using foreign social media platform, it’s simple as this but ignorant ones think the ban action was mere a reaction to Twitter taking the president’s tweet down.

I don't look for jobs for desperate people with no career purpose and values, but so comfortable with breaking the law that they would advertise it. If you are smart as you imply to be, then use your brain and create a job for yourself that is not criminal e.g become a coach to people who are writing their thesis, assignments or other research papers. Ok?

Again, they didn't force anyone and you can't force them to your will. Shebi LAIR muhaMAAAD has gone to the U.S and came back empty handed cos Twitter execs didn't give a furk about him?
