They don't really teach in NOUN cos it is an open university, but you have to do over-time reading.

I just pulled out...just like someone said up there, you will pay for almost everything, TMAS aren't easy accessing and submitting!
Exams are clashing like..I can't understand this country o!
I felt disappointed because what I expected isn't what I met

Exams only clash when you have carry overs.
TMAs are easy to submit jare.

Overall it's not a walk in the park sha.

I am a full time programmer and a great mathematician all from NOUN.

You know private school would take you if you have the MONEY for school fees?

NOUN is a Federal University. If you are under 23 years old, you can get the first degree at NOUN and then do masters in a private or government CONVENTIONAL university to be able to take part in NYSC. NOUN graduate do not take part in NYSC.

I would advice you choose a very easy course ("degree na degree").

The danger of the open university that student don't take it seriously at first because you are not going to class daily, you slack and don't study until 3 days to exams. Nigerians also feel it is not a real school (so some private employers would shun you).

If you chose a simple course and study daily, you would love the school...Everything is on you (no one would lecture you). That is why I suggest you study something you already know and just want certification.

The advantage is that they follow their calendrer so you are finishing 4 years from now (although they are talking of joining ASSU which would be a big mistake). It is also a little expensive, be ready to spend 100k+ yearly.

Pls don't study that kind of course in NOUN.

NOUN is a great option bit it is not an easy kick. Brace up if you want to go there.
I have pass through through the conventional University, Open Distance learning and the Open learning systems.
I repeat brace up.

With due respect to those that school there,NOUN is for those who are working and and are interested in futhering there education.Students pay through their noses theire.It is the brain child of OBJ who used it to bag his his wisshy washy degrees without academic quality.I advise you go to a public university.As for private universities 90 % of them are understaffed and have to rely on public Lecturers for existence ...

You must study ooooo. Don't go there and waste money. You must be hardworking and diligent.

I can't speak on NOUN, but I just wanted to leave this comment to say that if you graduate with that degree (Mathematics and Computer Science), and if you do well enough for a first class, you'll be HOT CAKE here in the US. Forget people telling you school is a scam, do your best and also learn programming well enough on the side (because I've heard that CS in Nigeria doesn't teach coding as well as it should). But even only with the theoretical background, you should have no problem making very very good money if you do well enough.

Am a graduate from NOUN, currently studying in UNN as a masters student. Just focus leave those people with high distraction index. If you are serious in the next four years you will come to NL to testify.

I would even advise you attend noun and use your major time to learn a business. This will make your 3-years worthwhile. You can even go into housing agency business as it will keep you on the field and in constant communication with people.

You have to know how to read and comprehend, their exams are difficult.

I studied Public Health there for the passion after my B.Sc Pharmacology. It's harder and more efficient. You will read and know it by force.

Try to go and get one if you think it's easy. That place is harder than the regular university. No argument, just enroll for a semester.

Maybe the people only went there because they needed an upgrade at work (they had ND as the cert they were using at work)

For academic aspect, NOUN is good.
You must be ready to help yourself pass as no lecture will be given you the the school (except facilitations for most science course)

The course material is very very ok.(some guys from UNiLorin were collecting them for their study)
If you need someone to be pushing you to study, pls don't go to NOUN
Except 2016 when they changed the VC and transferred to another portal, if your course year is 4, it will not pass 4 years.

I had to tell op the truth without tact.
Why did the op quit ? , because he can't cope with the competition required for those medical related courses. If you offered the OP a chance to study any medically related course without having to scale through the fierce competition I'm probably sure he would take it , he just wants the easy way out.
For how long is the op going to keep quitting ?
What happens when the computer science course gets too hard , will he quit too

Someone was to write a course in the afternoon only to get to exam center to be told same has be written in the morning. Scam! Scam!! Scam!!!

Exam will clash mostly when the student has carry over.. because the school will not put you above the normal students who is to write their normal semester exam. (If you have carry as an 100L student in second semester, your carry over exams may clash with your current level exams.

And for time, you can't successful finish NOUN without being in a WhatsApp group/s to get information.
