Let me be honest with you, no outsourcer in naija will pay you more than 10k per 1000 words and that is if you are very good at what you do. How much did the person get the contract? If it was easy you would be on Upwork or Fiverr sourcing the jobs. Anyway you can cold pitch to clients on Linkedin and other platforms for such rate.

I only asked this question because I saw that a lot of Nigerians are being exploited when it comes to freelance writing.

Due to lack of jobs, there are forced to accept what little offer comes their way and most Nigerian employers take advantage of this situation.

I have never worked for a Nigerian client when it comes to writing. This is because I know that Nigerians don't pay very well, so I had my eyes on international clients.

I got writing jobs through platforms like Google and LinkedIn. Presently, I am a freelancer on Upwork working for clients abroad.

I recommend freelance platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. They pay better than most Nigerian clients and you can even live off your writing sef.

For example, my worst pay was 50myr ($12) for 1,500 words and that was for a Malaysian client I found through LinkedIn.

My highest currently is $300 for 1,500 words and that's for a client from U.S.

There's money in writing. Just know the skill well and you can earn up to $1000 every month!
