Wonders shall never end ,i took my time to read about the israeli six day war with the arab world and it shocked me how israel a tiny dot in the middle east beat arabs hands down and still fvcking them hard till date... grin
In this part of the world UAR it took them 3 years plus heavy international support to defeat a tiny dot in the circle,no wonder buhari hates this tiny dotters so much they must have showed him pepper in battle field it not easy to watch thousands of ur colleagues killed by tiny dotters.they tried to crush the tiny dot with bullet and bombs it failed so they switched to starvation tactics.
Tiny dot shall rise again... grin

The Israel example is wrong. Israel was never a dot in the circle ab initio. The state of Israel had support from the US and even the British who colonized Palestine. Also, the fact that Saudi Arabia was a friend of the US didn't bring about an overall unity in the Arab world against the Israelis.

The Igbos, on the other hand, were part of the Nigerian union. The only thing that could stop any arms deal with any foreign supporter was the change of currency, and stopping the movement of food to the region. No one could do that with Israel as they were not part of any country.

Though I do not take Buhari seriously, knowing how incompetent he had been in managing his own family, not to talk of the calamity he has brought upon Nigeria. His statements are a reflection of the mindset of an average Fulani irredentist, whom often are brought up with the impression that they own Nigeria and are born to rule, even when history has proven otherwise and their incompetency in every facet of life stinks to high heavens, ranging from academics to economy, sports to military, entertainment to technologies, administration to infotech, etc the story is the same. I'm sorry the president has made some us to also refer to the entire fulani's the way and manner he refers to other ethnic group's.
Whenever and however he speaks,he speaks with hatred and pronounced bitterness against the igbos and certain parts of the country. He will single handedly divide Nigeria and I guess if Nigeria will ever be the same again even after the reign of this unfortunate president.

Israel is way smaller compared to Igboland. I'm not it's up to half of it. Biafran lost the war because it was poorly planned, and because at that time, there was no empathy from a lot of people who could have risen up against Nigeria, even the SS was against the secessionists then. Adaka Boro comes to mind.

Guy, I know all about the six-day war. Don't forget the US had promised to help Israel if the latter had not attacked first. The Arab nation's knew if they attacked first, the US would come in to defend Israel.
That was why Israel took them by promise by attacking first, and the world didn't do anything.

Looks like you don't know much about the war. Let me help you.

The war was instigated by 8 Arab nations in response to the 2 state solution proposed by the UN Which the Arabs wholely rejected. They planned to completely exterminate the Jews with their vastly superior armies and weapons of war.

The Israeli leaders voted to counter the superior Arab military by taking pre-emptive action. Thus on June 5th 1967 they launched an air raid on Egypt and wiped out up to 90% of it's airforce, then they expanded the attack and decimated the airforces of Jordan, Syria and Iraq.

On June 5th Jordan started shelling Israeli positions in Jerusalem, Israel responded with a counter attack and captured the west bank and celebrated by praying at the western wall at the end of the day.

The last phase of the fighting took place along Israel’s northeastern border with Syria. On June 9, following an intense aerial bombardment, Israeli tanks and infantry advanced on a heavily fortified region of Syria called the Golan Heights. They successfully captured the Golan the next day.

On June 10, 1967, a United Nations-brokered ceasefire took effect and the Six-Day War came to an abrupt end. It was later estimated that some 20,000 Arabs and 800 Israelis had died in just 132 hours of fighting.

The leaders of the Arab states were left shocked by the severity of their defeat. Egyptian President Nasser even resigned in disgrace, only to promptly return to office after Egyptian citizens showed their support with massive street demonstrations.

In Israel, the national mood was jubilant. In less than a week, the young nation had captured the Sinai Peninsula and the Gaza Strip from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria.

It's worth noting that the nation of Israel did this without western support.

Bro, I'm not talking about who started the war. My focus is not on who instigated the war, my focus is on how the 6-day war started. Of course I know that 8 Arab nations wanted to wipe Israel out front the surface of the Earth. My point is none of them ever expected Israel to attack the way she did. They expected Israel to wait on the US for support if they (the Arabs) attacked first.

Yeah I get your point. But that was where they failed they thought Israel would wait for western support so they used that time to steadily build their military might in order to wipe them out in one fell swoop.

But the devastating attack they got took them by surprise.
