Exactly what I was thinking. They should have arrested Thanos and his daughter that he killed to get the soul stone. They both died and escape the timeline na.

The TVA maintains the flow of a single Sacred Timeline. Within that single timeline, one can move forward, backward and sideways in time, as long as the timeflow of their actions remain constrained to the Sacred Timeline. The Avengers and Thanos traveling through time were all events that flowed within the Sacred Timeline. 2012 Loki taking the Tesseract and vanishing deviates from the Sacred Timeline as his timeflow from there is supposed to be imprisonment in Asgard to Imposter King to Ragnarok to his death. Hence his arrest.

I've not started watching Loki but I have episode 1 downloaded already.
What I know is, MCU timeline doesn't follow the already preexisting rules/tenets of time travel.
