The police is evolving...
They handle the protests well today, No Gun shots, and no arrest was made... Only tear gases were fired
Also notice, the military except in Abuja generally did not deploy, I think it their new method of avoiding confrontation with citizens ... Except where it is expedient.

Guest invitations were announced in February.

I'm more interested in the geopolitics at play, when one considers Biden's campaign undertaking of a "Coalition of Democracies", taken in with whom he called, and the order he in which it was done.

Then the Secretary of State Blinken followed suit. And now Boris as chair of the current G7 summit.
For example, Brazil might feel aggrieved at the omission. But under Bolsonaro, do they fit in the so-called coalition of leading democracies?

As I said on the pictures thread, I don't think Paramount will win it, for specific US domestic political reasons.
Still, "USSOCOM finalist" on a brochure gives a company immeasurable marketing cachet.

6 soldiers, unknown gunmen feared dead in Abia -

Six soldiers and a yet undisclosed number of gunmen are feared dead in Ohafia, Ohafia council area of Abia state in the early hours of Saturday as the military battled gunmen in the area.

Vanguard gathered that on Thursday, at about 5pm, unknown gunmen had stormed the Ebem motor park, shot sporadically in the air and fled to the Amangwu area of Ohafia.

When soldiers of the 14 Brigade of the Nigeria Army got wind of the incident, they went in search of the hoodlums in the community.

However, the soldiers who could not arrest any of the hoodlums, reinforced and returned to Amangwu community.

Sources told Vanguard that in their second visit, the unknown gunmen engaged the soldiers in a gun battle which reportedly lasted for several hours.

In the gun duel, unconfirmed reports have it that six soldiers were killed, while an undisclosed number of the unknown gunmen were also shot dead.

The operation caused the natives of Amangwu to flee from their homes as many of them slept in the bush till the next morning when the soldiers returned to their barracks at about 8.45 am.

A native of Amangwu Ohafia, who simply gave his name as Udo, and resides in Umuahia, told Vanguard that one of his relatives called him on phone at about 4.30 am and told him he was calling from inside the bush where they had gone to take refuge.

Residents of Elu, Ebem, and other adjoining villages in Ohafia, are reportedly living in fear.

Effort to contact the Army spokesman, 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Capt. Iliya Dauda, was unsuccessful as at press time.

However, a senior military officer in the state confirmed the incident, adding that over ten gunmen were killed in the crossfire.

True democracy? In a country that just had an insurrection at it's capitol? pls, no such thing as true democracy, do you know how bad cops harrass people over here? Or the fact that a governor says it's not his priority after an innocent black man has been rotting in prison for 40yrs and still refused to sign his release papers? don't even go there. what real democracy, the fvkers in the US are just as bad, they simply know how to hide it.
Do you know that cops can break into your home and claim to have warrants to search your home while refusing to give you the warrant to see? This was recorded by the home owner, turns out they were even in the wrong home to begin with.
Or unidentified security operatives kidnaping American citizens off the street ( during protest) in unmarked vehicles without identifying themselves, which is illegal.
If that happen in Nigeria, una go dey complain and blame buhari.
A democracy where their politicians are more partisan than ever, rendering the country paralyzed.
Donald Trump showed us that Americans, at least over 30% are more open to have a dictator , ain't no such thing as a true democracy here.
If not for a strong institution, the democracy would have failed by now.
Obama isn't the nicest person either, we don't know these people, they act nice and decent in public, but their true colors are shown behind closed doors, don't forget that.
And the way those two relate with each other, is more cultural than anything that has to do with democracy

You don't see anything wrong but you're chilling in the same us probably earning a hundred grand + per year.

I bet no amount of money would make you comeback and live in Nigeria with the current setuation.

When you elect leaders you atleast expect them to act the part even if they have monsters living in the dungeons they call a heart.

You currently enjoy no man's land because they are checks and balances, something you need to be privileged to be able to enjoy in your mother land.

Trump was rooted out like a plague because you knew why and if you was eligible to vote you probably voted against him for your own good because his stupidity could burn you directly. [b]

You broke the chain and left like a bunch of others because you probably can't stand making money and that money lose its value by the minute in your damn pocket.

You probably can buy a brand new card with your debit card while your brother's in your mother land can't even spend more than $100 a month internationally with their debit card.
How do you expect them to make money when they can't even spend money.

Nigeria has the best talents I've ever seen for an upcoming country yet the stupid ones always find their way to power.

The main point of that video was to show you how a president is supposed to talk and act. Once you are in that office it's game on and you need to roll up your sleeves and work it.

Your president cannot look you in the face and tell you what he was elected to do.
Hell I bet he doesn't even know the model of his official car.

And here you are giving me instances about America when you know deep down that you've never been in a more secure environment.

Happy democracy day.
Enjoy it. It's what you seek hence why you are there.

You tag it baseless because you basically see the world from your TV set and phones.

I can bet my left balls that you have never left Nigeria and it shows.

So while you still live in an analog world the rest of the world is moving on.

Bro, don't make it about me, my point is, don't fall for the mirage of some true democracy in America, that's a fantasy, doesn't exit.
take the train early in the morning and see how homeless Americans have turned the trains here into homeless shelters, yet most people would think it's all riches, nope, just a country where everyone live on borrowed money.
there are good and bad to the US, that's my point, I'm not saying it's all evil or perfect, I'm saying don't idolize US, even tons of Americans don't.
And trump rooted out? you understand over 70 million people voted for him right? that tells you something, doesn't it. And that vote for him even set a record
I'm the first that will tell you nigeria is failing, so not blindly taking sides, i don't do that.
Come here and ask Americans whose rights and freedoms have been violated by those in power, how is that democracy working out then.
What is your definition of a democracy and what should the people expect from it? When you list those expectations, i will tell you which ones don't exit, even here in the US

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha jet conducted airstrikes around Genu town in Niger State at the weekend.

The aerial bombardments eliminated many bandits fleeing in a convoy. Herds of rustled cows were also killed.

The fighter aircraft was scrambled from a military base in Katsina State.

One of the bombs allegedly strayed towards a wedding party in an adjoining community.

An eyewitness said they saw a jet dropping bombs on bandits and one hit a wedding event in Argida village.

“Two villagers were killed unfortunately. We gathered that several others who were guests at the wedding feast, sustain injuries.”

NAF Director of Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet told PRNigeria that the airstrikes at the axis were very successful.

“We have no information on any civilian casualty. Our mission is against armed bandits in that Genu axis, after we got intelligence on bad elements planning to terrorise the people”, he said.

The oil from Niger-Delta will not allow it stop. The igbos said they no longer want in on the union called Nigeria, but some other people with no drop of oil on their land, nor a seaport, but who head both Nnpc and Npa, said the igbos must stay in this union by fire by force. Making it seem like the igbos are slaves with no privilege to have a say on their collective destiny. We will see how it ends.
