Good evening Nairalanders, I'm here with a deep question for you guys: what is the purpose of our existence? There must be a reason why we are here, if not — then that means that life on earth is meaningless, but I don't think that's so.

For me, I think life is more like a game, and those who played it well goes to heaven, while the losers end up in hell (IMO). I think it's a game that we all have to play with everything that we are/have (spirit, mind, soul, body, conscious, words...) so as to be winners in the end.

Seriously, everything about existence needs deep thoughts and questioning, like have you ever wondered why most things exists in pairs, and sometimes in opposite to each other (like light and darkness, day and night...)? Why weren't everyone on earth created to be Men only, or Women only? why do humans only have the ability to reproduce it's kind? why hasn't anyone mistakenly reproduced organism of another kind? — that's life thoughts that needs deep thoughts to understand, and I think this shows that there's more to life than just being born, living on earth, and then dying only to be forgotten after a while.

With the way things are, whether you believe it or not, there's a Sophisticated Being somewhere controlling the ways of the Universe, and he didn't created us to exist for a while and then perish like we never existed. Well this is my thoughts and I would like to know yours! What do you think is the purpose of our existence? Let's make this the topic of the night, it might change someone's view of life (both you and I), redirect their ways and make them be more conscious of their actions, thoughts, behaviors, words, attitudes, etc...

Good question. Some people are just content with not knowing, others are content with believing the theories of others, but few really stop to think about it.
Try this: stand up and take a look around you, walk outside or look through your window, just watch everything and take it all in. Just take a second to realize how incredible this world is, how everything works together so amazingly. How each creature has a place and a role from a horse to a bird to an ant. There are so many different species of animals, yet they are all so complex that we don't even understand it all yet. Take a look at your own body, how every part is so awesomely designed and perfectly placed. Then stop, and ask yourself this question again, "Why do we humans exist?"Did all this just, "happen" or just come from some big bang? Do you really think that everything you've just seen and thought about is just some coincidence? Some do persist to argue that this is how we exist, but that is simply because they want to stay away from any further implications of an alternative explanation. However we were most definitely created by an awesome Creator. We were placed on this Earth to look after the rest of creation, the birds, the plants, the fish and all nature. That is why we have an ability to think beyond the abilities on any other animal. At the same time through all this we exist purely to give glory and praise to our Almighty Creator in whatever we do. That is why we exist. May God be glorified through all of us.

First, its not an "our" thing, but an individual thing, especially since everyone must dictate their own journey through life.

And second, its not a "purpose" as such, as in, its not something given to you but a thing you plan out for yourself.

Therefore, the more accurate question would be "what is my purpose", as in, "what shall I do with my time on this earth"? And as you might have guessed, that's for me to decide, just as you get to decide what to do with your time on this earth.
