Ruling from 1964-1991 to me seems like changing from one pattern of slavery to a much worse model of slavery. This baba removal as president made me not to believe any trade unionist or social crusader are credible to be voted as political leaders. They are all show no substance.

It was Frederick Chiluba that led Zambia down the economic ruin you mentioned. He promised to eradicate corruption and make Zambia paradise on earth,just to get Baba out. The Corruption Zambians later experienced in Chiluba's time became monumental compared to the previous child's play

Just like Nigeria depending solely on crude oil, Zambia depended solely on copper as a source of national wealth. Now see where it got them.

There must be supper looting going on in that country since independence.

Same thing we witness here in 9ja since time immemorial.

Kaunda is a historic figure but from what I read up there, his over 3 decades of rulership didn't produce any good result for his country.

He fought hard and prevented amalgamation of the 3 Rodesian colonies by Britain. That very heroic for me. He has my salutations.

Can you see what he did? He fought to 'snatch ' Zambia away from ill-fated federalism. But our founding-fathers , Awo , Zik , Anthony Enahoro and a host of others, fell for it with their minds and eyes closed and sold us into slavery called Nigeria, and brought us into the current agonies.

I remember this man that time we were fighting for African Independence.

Though well meaning like Buhari, he left the country impoverished. Honesty and integrity does not produce 8% per annum economic growth rates.

Sound economic policies are what transforms economies. Dangote said Soludo's bank recapitalization policies made him what he is today.

Buhari's "Great Leap Forward" policies since 2015 have left the economy prostate. "Be patriotic" no dey put food for table.

I remember the book written by the late Kenneth Kaunda "ZAMBIA MUST BE FREE"

I joined the good people of Zambia to mourn this great man.

It is a great loss not only to his home country but to the african continent.

Late Kenneth Kaunda, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Samora Machel of Mozambique, Kwame Nkrumah, Nelson Mandela were the great leaders of Africa.

These late rulers fought the colonialist be it the British, Portuguese, French etc and they wrestle power to african nationalist at Independence.

Many young politicians that are misbehaving in the political stages today at their various countries never knew the effort this great men put in their country.

In Nigeria, we had the likes of Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello ( Sauduana of Sokoto ) Chief Anthony Enahoro, Herbert Macaulay etc

May the good lord comfort his immediate family and the Zambia nation at large.
