The promise was to change the otherwise reeking water so that the fish could swim in entirely freshwater. For two years and some weeks, the ecosystem has become inhabitable. From ethnic clashes, auditory, thuggery, daylight robbery and midnight attacks, Oyo State has lost its peace.

Before now, as it were in Greek Tragedies, violence and blood were off stage. They were often told and not acted on stage. We only heard about them but did not experience them. However, today, we see blood littering our walls and keep counting our losses each day. Governor Seyi Makinde, where is the #omititun you promised Oyo State?

Emotion, they say is better experienced than explained. Sir, the wailing vortex of insecurity in Oyo State has gotten closer than expected. Everyone now does not just know how bitterness smells, they know what it tastes like in its several kinds. Including non-indigents of the state.

The midnight invasion of Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State is a thing too terrible to think of. It is like gall in the mouth. Just 2 days ago, a Post Graduate Student in the Department of Chemistry, University of Ibadan, Stanley Omonzokpia Victor Unekhoria was hacked to death by some miscreants in his home at the Orogun-Ojoo Area of Ibadan. The bright morning star went dimmed prematurely because he couldn't survive the machete wounds from the attack. On the same day, violence erupted at Iwo Road. Not fewer than 2 persons lost their lives and several others persons limped to their houses with deadly injuries.
