This does not contradict Paul's teaching in any way. There must be balance. I believe the balance is that you should not go out to deliberately eat/buy food offered to idols. It causes personal pollution. Matthew 4:7 Jesus said unto him, "It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."

However, should you be served food that have been offered to idols, since you have given thanks (to God) over the food, you should not be bound in fear that you have been polluted. And if you see another at such a table, don't seek to condemn the person. Mark 16:18 "They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

This issue of ileya meat has been overflogged. If it's because it's a Muslim that slaughters it, I'm sure the meat you buy at the abbattoir and consume daily is also slaughtered by them.

An example is seen in Daniel and the three Hebrew boys who refused to pollute themselves with the 'king's meat'. It is wrong to eat of the meat.

Jesus Christ more than made it clear that it is not what you eat that defiled you, makes you unholy,but instead what you have stored up in your heart that does that.

Also, you are not called to follow in the footsteps of Daniel and the 3 Hebrews, but instead the obedience of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, the New Covenant Law of God in the Kingdom of God.

1. So, are you stating here that your understanding of what is written in 2 Corinthians 6 vs 14, overrules that which God Himself, in His Law to us, declared in Matthew 15 vs 10 - 20?

2. You mention Roman Pagan worship. Are you insinuating that those sinful practices came in as a result of what those of the early churches ate, again, this against what God's Truth states?

Hunger never wire you, that is why you harbor preferences when it comes to food you can or cannot eat. Theological foundation that guides the answering of such questions? You mean a foundation built on the doctrines and traditions of men, that which Jesus Christ declared where nothing but Lies where God's Truth is concerned - Matthew 15 vs 1 - 9?

Rather, what is needed is a knowing of the Truth of God as declared by Jesus Christ Himself, who in this case more than made it clear to all those who follow Him that it is not what you eat that defiled you or makes you unholy, but instead the filth and lies - theological guidelines etc.,that you store up in your heart that causes you to sin - Matthew 15 vs 10 - 20.
