Hello

Have applied for visa about 2 to 3 years ago do I need to request for my reasons why I was denied if yes please what do I need to do? or I should just apply for my study permit visa?

Also I studied Geography and planning science at AAUA with 2:1 2013 set. After my service as an Igbo guy I enter business for about 7 years now. My questions is can I apply for MBA? Which school can I apply for that I can get my study permit visa?

Thanks

Hello Tonnymexx,

If it is not the same TRV category, requesting the notes becomes optional and it cost nothing to request for it. But if it's the same TRV category, then it is strongly advised to request the notes.

You can check the University of New Brunswick or University Canada West for their MBA program.

Hello everyone,

Pls ive been following the thread for a long time now ive never seen anyone going to Acadia University where i got a masters admission. Can anyone give me any information about the school pls.

Im hoping for my Ppr too April 23 applicant.

Hello JayEjabz,

You should consider looking into some other universities. Acadia University has limited and non-competitive programs. It centres focus more on theological teachings.

Hello Studywell,

This is not an issue, you can always respond to MER at where you will be going. However, it may be expensive due to the transacted currency. Feel free to plan your travels.

Please our Honourable gurus.I have a question especially 4 those that applied and use their present employment as part of Economic ties.Do they call ur company ?. I intend to get a letter from my HR for study leave but its between d both of us cos my company does not grant study full leave.except if u are doing part time here in Nigeria .moreover my MD will be so angry and disappointed if he finds out am leaving the country cos am so important to the company by God's grace.so my question is .does IRCC verify employment aside ur salary statement of account which obviously shows u get salaries from the company,ur employment and promotion letters, ur company Email nd I.D card etc.will they still want to call the company?.plz for those who have submitted their company ID cards ,employment letters etc.did they call ur company?

my HR wants me to verify this before giving me that letter cos only my General manager can instruct him to give such letter and if we tell the GM,he will tell the MD that am planning to leave.i dont even wanna think of that impact on out relationship nd the favour I get from him.please I need answers oo.thanks .

moreover it's my GM phone no that is on the letter headed paper used for my employment and promotion letter.i hope they wont call the man
They will not call anybody.

Side story
So at the time of my application, I was enrolled in a university in Nigeria. In my third year sef. But because of the strike and other things, I decided to move to Canada to start my undergrad afresh. I was so scared that this would be a complication in my application. I also applied exactly 1 week apart from my brother so this was another complication in my mind.

The wait was crazy because I had to still be attending school here in Nigeria just in case...lol. We thank God for grace.

Shout out to @Lekiboboe, @JustMellow, @Frankrobbn1, @Deoemmanuel and others who really helped answer my questions with regards to my application. God bless you guys abundantly.

Everyone still waiting, God is coming through for you and you will testify soon... Amen.

Amen congratulations!! Which school pleaase? And what course?

The reason IRCC is tough on Nigerian Applications especially documents from Benin (I don't know why that is). Please don't forge bank statements as they do check o!!!

Goodday all, please for someone who just gained admission for MAY 2022,what time is appropraite to apply for Study visa, when its the deadline from IRCC

Please answers are needed, cos this POF matter is serious

Hello Tracy0803409,

Six months to your resumption is advised by IRCC. If you have your LOA at hand, you can apply as early as eight months and as late as three months to class resumption.

Hello Enjay316,

For the study route, IRCC rarely verifies employment or calls the employer for verification.

However, the officer can decide to act based on caprice and wit if there is obvious disparity.

If the officer is not so sure about the legitimacy of the employment, updated information like salary record and payslip will be requested.

Congratulations

Please I sent you a mail.

Update and Landing gist. Sorry this will be long but I wanted to update the house on some issues that were coming up when I was active on the thread (Part 17).

Background. I applied for the study visa in 2020 during COVID. Deferred my admission till May 2021. I am female, married with children. I didn’t apply with my husband or children, but they all had existing U.S and Canadian Visas. The plan was to travel with the family, then apply for my husband’s work permit within Canada.

With Covid restrictions, I couldn’t travel with my family when school started so I started online. Someone advised me to send an email requesting exemption for my family members to travel with me, which I did. I first applied for the children attaching their birth certificates, my student visa and their birth certificates. After receiving theirs, I applied for my husband. Attached our wedding certificate, his proof of funds and his visit visa. He was also granted leave to travel.

We landed at Vancouver, and while filling the passport update form, stated that my family was going to be with me for the duration of my studies. There’s a separate section where students and new immigrants are processed. We were directed to that section. The lady processing me asked what documentation we will need and I said I needed a Spouse Open Work Permit for my husband and landing record for my children. She asked if I had applied for it before leaving my country and I said no, but I would like to have it. After conferring with one of her colleagues, she asked if I travelled through the U.S and I said no. Apparently if you transit through the U.S, it’s easier to get your Work permit at the border. Anyway after some hesitation she gave us the required permits.

IMPORTANT POINTS:
1. For those that are able to, it’s easier to get documentation from within Canada. If for instance your children are American citizens or your husband already has a Canadian visiting visa, it’s better to wait until you are all within Canada to ask for documents. A Spouse open work permit can take more than 6 months to process from Nigeria

2. Always ask for what you want. Initially I was afraid to ask for the work and permit at the boarder, because it is clearly stated on the website that if you know your family is going to stay with you during your studies, then you must apply at the same time. I was worried that they will question me on why I didn’t apply for my spouses work permit when I applied for my student visa. But I sha summoned up
Courage and asked. The worst that can happen is they will say no.

Thank you to all who have been giving selflessly on this thread. Every step of this journey, from my first US visa and Canadian visa, to the entire process of getting the study visa would not have been possible without the advice I got from this thread and other threads on the travel section. May all who are on this journey also get successful results. It is, and will continue to end in praise.

@Guru in the house.
My son will soon be travelling to Canada on Student visa. Below are my questions:
1. Do we need to pay his school fees prior to him leaving?
2. How much cash does he need to take along with him?
3. What are the likely questions they can ask him at the boarder?
Will appreciate a quick response.

Thank you!

Hello Kudiratu28,

Confederation College isn't entirely a poor study hub despite its poor ranking. George Brown College is also a good one too and ranks higher than Confederation.

If you fortify yourself with adequate research, you may be able to attain PR with a 1-year program. To do it conveniently, a 2-year program is ideal or you can decide to pursue a second program of 6 months or 1-year at length to get a 3-years work permit under PGWPP.

If you see a program that suits your profile accordingly and demonstrates progression and that has a WIL component whether it's a 1-year or 2-years study, grab it.

Best of Luck

Thank u so much for ur input, I am grateful. I consider thunder bay because of RNIP

I've requested for mine, I'm yet to get it. May I ask how long did it take for you to receive those last 2 gcms notes and from which site?
Kenechim:

Yes. My first GCMS (in April) came back empty. Second one (received first week of June) has Review Required, but there's no reason given for the Review Required. I ordered a third one late last night.
