This is a fake letter to scam desperate Nigerian youths.

2. Why will a conference even pay for your visa and flight fees? It's normally the other way round.

3. The said hotel has no visible online presence, apart from it's website which I believe was created for the sole purpose of scamming. No reviews or nothing. Big red flag for an hotel said to host conference delegates.

4. The said hotel is missing on google map. The said address of the hotel is actually a residential street.

5. Your visa documents will be processed here in the United States and the approval letter of your visa will be sent to the U.S Embassy in your country for the collection of your visa. . This is the biggest red flag of all.

Spot on. Just did the Dallas-Houston drive this weekend. It’s 3-5 hours depending on your route. You’re not driving that every day.

Although I do make some applications online but I'm not so sure I applied for this.

Good analysis, in addition:

1. There is nothing like “ U.S Bureau of Immigrant Affairs” in the US. The only department of USCIS that handles visas in the US is called National Visa Center -NVC and they don’t handle visitor or tourist visas.

2. All US visitor/tourist visas have to be initiated from an embassy abroad.

3. The two domain names, ie the one for the ‘hotel’ and the one for conference organizers are new and less than 8 months and they were registered on the same registry and were registered three days apart.

4. Both domain names will expire in October, 2021 ie in four months.

This is a scam OP, I was scammed by this kind of similar conference far back year 2006, then I was desperate to travel out of the country so I fall for the scam.

In the US, every business is easy to contact, no matter how small or big. There all have online presence.
You see, there is no way in the world a hotel would not have some online presence at least on google map.

That said, the English has so many grammar errors.

Also visa is always from the embassy of that country, in Lagos or Abuja

If I were you I will tell them that my institution is willing to shoulder my return flight expenses. Also, I will make an exemption for booking my own hotel near the venue of the event simply because I am very much familiar with the terrain and watch what their next move will be.

To detect it easier, use Truecaller app and check the provider, it will give the name of the provider and it reads OTHER (meaning it didn't correspond as a direct call line for calls and messages)
