As it is stand now in Nigeria which course is better petroleum engineering or medicine and surgery

Bros, Nigeria has only two things you can use in making money : sickness and corruption. So being a doctor or a lawyer in Nigeria is highly profitable. And as for Petroleum engineering, just forget about it because it's not worth it in Nigeria.

Computer Science

I still wonder why petroleum engineering is yet to be scrapped honestly.

Only an ignorant person studies a course that is so narrow and specific to an industry which has seen its best days gone past it. You are better off studying Physics or Computer Science than Petroleum Engineering - grads from the first two can work in the oil industry. As for Medicine, if the person is not very intelligent and/or does not have a strong financial support system, it is pointless studying it, worse still, practice in Nigeria after studies.

The earlier young Nigerians know this, the better for themselves.

You keep talking about Phyiscs and Computer Science. I don’t know what exactly you saw in Physics but have you seen the trash they teach as Computer Science in Nigeria?
Or are you suggesting them because they are respectable 4 year courses?

Politicians have cornered all the jobs in petroleum industry.

You write as if we have world class engineering departments in the country. It is easier to learn computer science principles on one's own than engineering and yes, due to the instability in the education system and age cap in job search, better Physics or Computer Science over any engineering course (apart from Elect/Elect).
