Yes. Sometime in 2010 I came across "Half of A Yellow Sun" by Adechie. I finish the book in one go cos I couldn't just stop myself. I was very touched and pained for what the Igbo's went through the war and seeing how they have been treated even after the war, and at that point I became a Biafran and Igbo because I shared in their suffering. My conviction to become Igbo arises even further because I come from a community that produces 70,000 barrels of crude oil and 1b cubic feet of gas per day, yet there is nothing to show for it in the community. Seeing that injustice meted on my people made me hate one Nigeria, and for the fact that my people are to docile to fight for their rights made me find succour in the Biafra dream. Cos only through that can my people the ijaws be free. We are in bondage and slavery in the hands of the British govt and their cohort in one failed giant Nigeria. Biafra is the hope that I have to be truly free.I am ready to die for this my belief.
