I need more help and information on how to drive to Ghana from Nigeria. I've read a lot of experience from the forum which were all 8 - 5yrs ago. I am looking for a fresh information smiley

I know Seme Border is the main place of the stress, and I wish to get most of the document within Lagos prior to the journey. Please, let me know any new improvement or information I might need.

And, if I want to register the car in Ghana, do I need to pay another custom duties for importing from Nigeria?

Documentation has not changed.

: International driver's licence
: International passport (or the ECOWAS passport)
: International certificate of vaccination (Yellow card)
: International certificate for motor vehicles
: ECOWAS Motor vehicle insurance (a.k.a. Brown card)

A new addition would be a less than 5-day old Covid PCR negative test result.

Also, I think some borders may be officially closed to traffic. You may want to verify this.

You can't drive to Ghana because Ghana's land borders are closed due to covid-19. Ghana's borders have been closed for the past one and half years.
Of course, you have to register any car that is imported into Ghana, and you pay the required duties and taxes. If I bring a car into Nigeria from Ghana, I won't pay tax?

I learnt Ghana land borders can be opened for people with Residence Permit or Citizens.

I need help from someone with information about these dues. It shouldn't be same as importing from overseas :/
