First Blackman appointed to manage an EPL Team!!!!

Wawwwwwwu!!

This is a landmark here.

Was so pained Samson Siasia didnt get the Everton job that year. It would have helped African/black coaches that are limited for whatever reasons.

This is outstanding record.

Makes me remember Micheal Emenalo of Chelsea too.
I'm not sure this is true
There's this West Bromwich manager have forgotten his name

You mean Darren Moore..

And you are right about Viera not being the first. Paul Ince with Blackburn was the first black EPL manager.

Baba, what are your thoughts about Lokonga? And what are your expectations going into the season? Where do you think we can realistically finish or be by December with our Spanish Khadiri Ikhana?

By December with the way transfer is going we might find ourself the position we found ourself last season just that Arteta will be sacked

What of Lokonga? If the transfer window closes and we are left with Elneny/ Lokonga to partner Partey.

You sef check am na.. We don spend nearly 80M buying players that won’t resolve our pressing issues..
We did not need Ben White, worsestill at that price, Lokonga is not a sure starter and Tavares is supposed to be Tierney’s backup.
Stingy people wen don manage spend nearly 80M, you sure say dem go spend serious money on top quality midfielder?

I'm just waiting till after euros I think that's what English fans are waiting for before they unleash mayhem on arsenal FC

Watching few of lokonga clips on YouTube, I'm not too impressed. Since he's 21/22yrs, I'm sure he might probably see more of him coming off from the bench, so perhaps I'll access him very well at arsenal esp since we're already close to getting him.

As for this season, na God hand we dey. Tho, I don't want to give any conclusion now till towards end of transfer window so that I can fully access the incoming and outgoing players to make a proper assessment/opinion.
But if we only sign lokonga and tavarez without any significant signing(s) in key areas, then I'm sure we'll be lucky to see 6th sef. Mind you by Jan, we'll be losing Pepe, elneny and partey(key players).
The way I'm seeing it by December, we'll be in a position not too good, but also just enough for the board not to sack Arteta.

That's my take

Me I'm suspecting they'll still bring just 1 more outfield player just like partey signing.

But who would that be... I probably don't know yet. Reason why I'm waiting grin

I don't and will never blame the blacks atall. Mike Emenalo is the best example out there. And so was Siasia. Oliseh ke?? Go places with that attitude? Lol

Amuneke will fit the go places instead if you ask me.

Hopefully it becomes a norm soon.

Nigerian lanky striker, Paul Onuachu on Arsenal Radar.

#61 link.

Catching cruise so that Moyes will be more serious with decision??

My my!

Either way it goes, he's gonna fit only if an Ozil or Ramsey places behind him.

Lokonga and Tavares are not regarded as impact signings, they are more like investments for the future. So for me they don't count.

Again, common sense tells us that bidding 50m for a defender like Ben White means that there is a plan for the areas which we need most like AM and CM. Also we expect significant outlays there in those areas.

As for Saliba, I think he has a relationship issue with Arteta similar to that of Guendouzi (Both are now with Marseille smiley ) as there is no other reason why he should be on another loan and not fighting to get a shirt. He too has made it worse when he openly criticised Arteta.

1... Why do you think that bidding 50m for Ben White means there's plans by the club to sign a significant Am and/or cm? Sorry but I'm trying to see the rationale behind the relationship esp knowing who our club is.

2.. If Arteta could send saliba on loan again without giving him a fair chance just because he was criticised by him, then I'm afraid for who Arteta is as a man. I just want to believe there's something more to it. When saliba did that criticism, I was expecting Arteta as a coach to talk to him and reassure him; sending him away from the team without him joining the camp is just a no no from me to Arteta. Well I believe with time, the real truth about all that's happening between those two will come out
